"I'm sorry," Bella told Dan apologetically as they returned to the office in his car. She felt really terrible that she had screwed up this time. Not just because she was scared for her job but because she really didn't want her carelessness to affect his job.

Even though she had planned to make things difficult for him, she decided that she was going to restrict it to his personal life. She wouldn't do anything that would give that ugly jerk any advantage over Dan.

"Don't just apologise. Be better at your job!" Dan muttered under his breath. He really couldn't blame her for any of this anyway. He was very certain she had been right about the meeting time and venue. Patrick must have changed it to make things difficult for him, and it was his fault for not realising that Patrick was going to look for every means to sabotage his every effort.
