"Grandpa, why don't we pray?" Cory inquired, his eyes earnest as he looked up at Raphael.

Raphael paused, considering the question, his gaze drifting momentarily to the serene landscape beyond the window. "Ah, Cory, an excellent question indeed," he began, his voice carrying a tone of contemplation. "We don't pray because in this world, there are no deities to whom we can direct our prayers. The only 'gods' are those self-proclaimed by humans, individuals striving for enlightenment and a sense of holiness."

Cory absorbed this explanation, his young mind grappling with the concept. Yet, there lingered a sense of curiosity, a desire to understand more deeply the beliefs that guided his grandfather's convictions.
