Hysteria

*chapter eighteen*

Natalie hadn't moved, so lost in her world, she missed the chance of seeing through his bruised, bleeding heart. His grip on her stiffened, she felt his heartbeat,as it resonated with hers in a symphony. Her struggle to escape his grasp were slowly faltering. Her sky blue eyes glued to his skin.

His tears, more consistent, ushering from his eyes. "Sky-" He needn't complete his words she knew what he intended to say. Skylar

He mumbled, again. "Natalie..." His voice sounding like a plea. She felt guilt wash over her. She could connect with his heart. It's said a man utters nothing but the truth only when he's drunk or at his death bed, 'or grime with a rash fever.'she added sarcastically.

For the first time knowing Asher, she saw something different, something he had never worn under those expressionless gazes of his. Something in her gut that she couldn't seem to describe with words.

She felt worse, her skin begun to irk. This was all her fault to begin with. She was again lost in her own world considering the ifs and possibilities. The ruthless and cold air shivered on her,Natalie never winked, watching the passing time, glued to Asher, she pondered on her thoughts.

The moon shone brightly revealing the relentless Emma scuffing about her home,a wrinkle round her tensed lips. She was up all night,Her brown eyes glaring through the reflected picture on her computer screen. The face of her enemy.

Natalie Reed.

She was still, but even the frigidity of her home knew the length of her insanity and obsession. It very well knew the darkening and terrifying thoughts twirling in that red haired head of hers.

Her brown astute puppy eyes gazed into the deep tender sky blue eyes of her prey. For hours now,she had been in this fixed spot, disconnecting her ties with reality letting her inner thought do the thinking.

For the umpteenth time she had felt the familiarity of those blue eyes and at the very same time she lost the lead. It was as if having breadcrumbs at the end of every tunnel.

But one thing Emma Brooke knew was,she had to crack this new puzzle. Yes. In her life, every obstacle ever encountered was nothing but a puzzle,a challenge.

Even her so called soul sister,Jeanine. She was the simplest of all. It was still aching her rotten heart that that wench had to exit this life still as a perfect little angel. Sometimes she wished Jeanine hadn't died so easy. Emma blinked at that, well that was in the past.

She laughed weirdly, funny how whenever thinking of Natalie, Jeanine always crawled in. She wasn't letting Dave go,not for anything in the world. He was wrong about one thing. Dave belonged to her.

He was her fucking damn property. So it had been for years and she wasn't about to give it up.

Infatuation or not,Dave would have to get his head back in the game. She loved him to much the loose him. He wasn't going to leave her...not like her father had abandoned her, definitely not as her drunk of a mother had taken the easiest way out of this world to escape her pain,'or so they say.' She laughed hysterically at that. Dave was staying and it was final.

She carried on with her deafening excuse of a laugh. Piercing through the cold air as glimmer of rays slowly invaded the night's territory. Natalie had found herself fast asleep in Asher arms. When she squeaked her eyes open, she scudded away, bumping into little Sky that had paved a little place for herself on the bed. She obviously didn't want to miss out on this one.

Natalie was shocked on her the little angel had magically appeared here. She gave a light pull at her, watching Skylar cute fingers brushing her eyes awake. It was apparently a good thing she had awoken before Asher,it would had no doubt been awkward. She gave a quick feel at his temperature. The soup was indubitably of great help. He was slightly better compared to the night hassle. Though, there was still a need for the doctor.

Natalie gestured at Skylar to remain silent and be a super brilliant spy so not to wake up daddy. She whispered fairytale sweetness to Skylar to ensure they both crawled out without alarm.

Skylar loving every opportunity at this went on spy mode. She let out a smile which coloured her baby pink lips, revealing her beauty, one she inherited from Natalie.

Natalie couldn't quite understand the charming smile sent to her,she definitely underestimated this little one. Skylar knew what Natalie was aiming at,but she played along, cherishing the moment. Both moved out of the room simultaneously unaware of the fully awoken Asher who laid idly on the bed, again with an expression that couldn't be decoded. An unnoticeable smile on his cherry lips...

The morning smile also plastered cynically on Dave's lips. It was a good fortune thinking of his stainless beauty. Although with the stressful weight of problems dangling on his shoulder, something kept him serene. The image of Natalie back at the Hotel pool, sprung in his mind.

Something had changed, this wasn't about him domineering and acquiring her as yet another trophy. It was something deeper. The other day, listening to Emma, annoying lamentation revealed it all.

He was taking a liking to her.

Who wouldn't? Dave shrugged, his grey eyes twitching around on his treadmill his earphones blocking his ears. He needed to keep up the appearance if he really wanted to raid his beauty.

She was appealing, even from the first time he met her at the party. He was drawn to her. The intoxicating charisma she exuded and the stone cold gaze always plastered on her face turned him on. No woman had gazed at him with those eyes. She had that emotionless cold stare whenever he saw her.

She was a challenge, no female had ever made him feel this way,not even Emma. She was only enjoyable in bed and when skimming of course.

But Natalie aroused something different. And it was nice. He loved the mystery behind this lady. And he would slowly unravel both in bed and on the outside.

Dave was far more eager and determined to find out. If this was another one of his another object of interest or something else. Whatever be the case he was having a blast.

He wasn't one to have a thing with anyone. No he wasn't any woman's man. He had thought what he felt for Emma could be described as love but nowadays he's starting to disagree. He shouldn't have misbehaved with Emma the other day but she's just impossible. He actually had no regret he had been dying to let those words out and so he did,he set them free. But Emma he knows her too well even better than she herself. Gradually he would make her realised that getting this way with him wouldn't profit to anything.

Dave put a halt to the treadmill ,dragging hold of a towel to clean up the sprinkle drop of sweat on his face. He was tired, reading his piled up inbox. 'None from Natalie' He sighed, still unable to reach her. The other one capturing his interest was from Martin. 'Alas, after so much time,Frederick Brown would finally be meeting with Krystal Group.' He snickered.
