{{A/N: I really wanna avoid writing here so I'll keep it short for warnings. There is a small NTR section so that the MC's current personality towards relations changes from next chapter. In a dimly lit room with flickering lights, a dying man sat on the floor covered in his own blood.

He reached for his neck slowly and painfully, grabbing the necklace that was a symbol of his love.

But it was the necklace, which was supposed to be a token of love from his woman, that caused him the most pain.

Adam was always an honest person who did things to please others.

It could have been to deal with the pain of loneliness from his childhood since he grew up with nothing to his name because his parents abandoned him when he was young.

His parents were not dead, but they had abandoned him when he was only four years old because they didn't like how he cried at night. A parent's failure and a pair of cruel creatures.

Adam's life was never a happy one, but he always saw the bright side.

The orphanage children disliked him because he was smarter than everyone else.

The classmates at school avoided him so he used his free time in studies, games and anime. Though he was not very indulged in the latter two subjects.

He eventually joined the army but the soldiers in his team always made him do their chores.

He did them anyway since they had invited him to have some fun once in a while. Pity or not, Adam was happy.

He also basically became a Beta male for his first and last girlfriend, who showed him love when she felt like it but also blamed him for every wrong thing that happened in her life.

This lifestyle continued until the day he had his first kill.

In the army, he was the 'Tech guy' who worked remotely while others in his team were on field action.

Whether by chance or not, this time he had to be near the enemy base for proper infiltration during one of their missions, which turned out to be a trap when he discovered that their enemies already knew where they were and what they were doing.

Before he could say anything, their enemies were already near them and were opening fires. He, as a soldier, for the first time used his guns on a living person.

Unknowingly he started liking it, not the killing, but the thrill to fight and defeat whoever was in front of him.

Adam, who never had above average score on his shooting tests, was killing with much more accuracy his team captain. His adrenaline was at its peak and the gun felt like a part of him.

While he was on his own world, ignoring orders and killing almost half of the enemy force by himself, his comrades were looking at him in shock.

That smile he had while shooting was not something any 'good guy' like Adam should have.

They were feeling happy and fear at the same time as that smile could give them a sense of safety and make them pee their pants at the same time.

Adam couldn't see any targets after 2 hours of shooting with every gun he could get from friends or enemies. He looked for his team and saw something he never expected to see from them. Fear and admiration.

After the mission was over, his superior asked him about the killing spree he was in and he answered everything without omitting any details. How he felt and what not.

After that incident, he began to see things in his life that he had never imagined were possible. He was promoted and assigned to missions such as rescue, infiltration, and assassination. He was quickly promoted for his leadership, accuracy, and overall skills. A 'worthless random' became the focus of everyone's attention.

Like all miracles he had felt, his girl also showered him with more and more love. He was finally feeling happy. He also made a best friend, John, who he called his brother. A rather handsome guy and with a loving personality. They met soon after he first went up the ranks.

When they have vacations, they always hang out together, go to parties, and have sleepovers. They were essentially blood brothers.

When he got promoted to be the captain of special forces, he brought his best friend with him too.

All this happened in the span of 5 years. He was also ready to propose to his girlfriend this year. He was more confident and more handsome(?) than he ever was and this made him want to complete his life with his love.

After discussing everything with John, he planned to propose to his girlfriend but out of nowhere he had to take one last mission with his team.

After his early retirement from the army, he planned to start his own business and appoint John as captain of this special force.

Everything went according to plan. He also delegated full command of the mission to John in order to improve his impression on the team and his appeal as a leader until...

[ In the dim room ]

"Why John? Why would you do this to me? I thought we were friends. Why betray me like this?", Adam asked as he applied pressure on the gaping wound on his stomach from a bullet.

"Why you ask? Because I was never your friend Adam. I was only pretending from the very start. You were always a fool to think that I ever took you as a friend." John replied with a smirk on his lips and disgust on his face.

"I don't get it. I never did anything to you. I never did anything bad to anyone so why would you do this?" Adam looked at John with anger, pain, and sadness.

"Because you had one thing I always wanted, Alice. I first saw her since we went to the same college. I have loved her since then. I always wanted her." John said with a hint of anger.

Adam was shocked and confused. "Why didn't you say anything?"

"Would you give her to me if I said so?"

"No. Never"

"Like I thought. She was never truly in love with you either. She was only using you as a slave who loved her like a blind fool." John said with visible disgust on his face.

Adam like a blind fool didn't believe him at all. "What are you saying? Alice loves me and she isn't the type to go after money. She was with me because we love each other and I don't even have that much money to begin with."

"She only saw you as a slave. I don't know why she was with you for so many years either. But she stuck with you despite everyone's negative opinion"

"How do you even know this anyway? And why should I believe you anyways? She might have been unsatisfied at the beginning but n-now things have changed." Adam was slowly losing his vision as he was bleeding out.

"Yes. I have seen her love for you grow in the past years. From disgust to liking you even when I'm fucking her behind you back." John said with anger.

"No. No.. You're lying to me." Adam denied it with everything he had.

"Why would I lie to a person who is going to die anyway? Hehe but for your doubt, this is your proof" John pulled out his phone and played a video.

Alice in that video was making faces that John had never seen before. His eyes were tearing up. The dizziness soon turned into tears and anger. It was not the first time someone betrayed him but this was the first time he felt the true pain of betrayal.

"We met when we were in college. At first it was just for fun. To cover for the missing dick in her pussy. For 3 years she was mine, even if it was only in body. She even promised me to leave you after getting your money but the fact that she started liking you and was trying to get away from me made me angry. Adam at the time didn't say anything. He was looking at the floor and lost in his own crumbled world. He was remembering his past about himself, his time in the orphanage, his time with Alice, the missions and his friendship with John.

Something broke in his mind and he slowly looked up to John with dead eyes. He pulled his phone out and after some clicks, with a smile he passed his phone to John.

Confused by this action, John caught the phone in his hand and looked at it. It was a message app where the conversation was between Mrs. Anne, Julie and Adam. John's eyes became bloodshot when he read the conversation.

Anne is John's mother and Julie is John's elder sister. They had sent Adam 'love messages' with them posing naked together. Some pics also had Julie, and Anne and Adam fucking. In one of the photos, Adam looked very drunk.

"Read the messages too" Adam's voice was dark and deep.

John painfully read the message to find out that his family was the one blackmailing Adam to have sex with them.

"Now I don't feel guilty at all. Haa I was saving myself for my honeymoon too."

John looked at the smiling Adam, pulled his gun out and fired some bullets at Adam's chest.

Before John could say anything, Adam with what was left in him said, "Let's go together my 'friend'." He shot a bullet right between John's head with his hidden pocket gun.
