Chapter 57

The mini boss that killed Shawn had two forms. Its first one was highly defensive, both magic and physical attacks dealt were below half their normal damage. Its second form appeared when its health was below one third. Only magic attacks would work in the second form.

"Can you tank?" Gene asked me.

"I think I can," I said.

"Please keep its attention on you while I cast my high aggro spells."

"Got it."

I moved forward first to catch the mini boss' attention with a taunt. It worked. I kept the mini boss in place as Gene dealt magic damage. I held the boss for as long as I could. Its health was still near full while mine was already at half.

"Will we make it?" I asked.

"Even though this is meant for a full party, I think we can still manage with just the two of us. Do you have healing potions?" Gene remained positive.

"I packed a lot."

"Good. When you run out, I'll heal you."
