I kept staring at Gene during the ride, trying to find out why he suddenly agreed to go with Mr. Shark. Inside I was also secretly crying over the lost gaming time.

"What?" he finally asked.

"I thought you didn't want to get involved."

"I don't want you to get involved, but you've already involved yourself deep enough. I find this important too. We need to keep away important information away from the wrong people."

"By the ‘wrong people', do you mean the group Auriel belongs to?"

"Possibly. There might even be other groups after the same thing."

I suddenly remembered the man with the gun who tried to kill me at the fashion show.

"At the fashion show, there was a second phantom thief who tried to kill me."

Mr. Shark almost accidentally hit the bumper of the car in front of us.

"A second phantom thief?" Miss Butterfly couldn't believe it.

I narrated to them what happened.

Gene only sighed. "That's what happens when you keep interfering, Beatrice."
