Thief

Why not? I'm here to meddle with humans after all.

I walked along the ridges of the roofs until I caught a good time to pounce on the haggard looking men while they chased the girl into an empty path. I took them out swiftly knocking them out on the wall with a mere shove in the chest and a swipe to the face.

I snarled at how easy it was, quite disappointing. I looked around the alley, noticing the girl must've used the time to hide. How cunning.

The smell of the bread, clutched between her hands gave her away as she hid behind an old wagon, hoping this situation would just disappear.

She was so quiet, I was impressed. Her breath was relaxed and could barely be heard. It seemed she'd done this many times before.

I walked closer, giving away that I knew where she was and immediately she began running, finding a way into the open.

Bad move.

I couldn't ignore someone running away from me like prey to be snatched. I picked up a taunting pace to catch up to her in mere seconds, bringing her to a halt with nowhere to go.

"Just take it, I'm sorry. Please don't harm me," she begged in a near hushed whisper.

She threw the bread down at my paws, refusing to back up into the wall behind her.

"We're starving here, allow me to please talk with your owner about what's happening here."

I sighed, "I don't have an owner, have the bread and be gone."

I guessed she wouldn't want to talk to me then and anyways I had to go back to check on the warrior guy.

I could see the confusion on her face when she stuttered her thanks and goodbyes then left. Her clothes weren't half bad for a commoner, her light blue dress swaying in the wind.

I had back tracked from my goal of getting into the castle but nevertheless I would get into it before night, the sun still passing through the afternoon.
