Home?

"I'm not that bad and anyways are you just going to waddle your way there?" I chuckled at him still falling over his wings. Of course after a wash and a good stretch he would have been able to get most of the way there but after some thought he reluctantly agreed.

We headed down the river as I followed his vague instructions which would have surely got many lost. I went on at a steady pace for hours, occasionally dipping in and out of the river for a refreshment.

"Forgot to ask, what's your name?" I asked, getting bored of the silence.

"Roy." a sighed reply came, it surprised me that he didn't want to talk. He was the one just sitting on my back doing nothing. I shrugged it off guessing I'll eventually give him mine when he isn't in such a mood.

When I got to where two rivers met I turned upstream, catching a few fish along the way. As the stream widened I could make out man-made walls in the horizon. With Roy impatiently tapping his claws on my back I made haste to the city gates.

"There will be a guard there, go over." I nearly threw him off while he finished as I slid to a halt in confusion. He expects me to run up an 8 meter tall wall. "Can you explain just how I'd do that?" I said, giving him a side eye glare.

He crooked his head, quickly spread his wings and took off into the sky. Is this damned bastard going to leave me here now? I ran after him roaring below as we grew nearer to the wall. He nearly flew out of sight when he suddenly took a sharp turn and glided down by the gates.

It didn't take long to catch up to see where he had taken me. A few rocks sticking out made an easy job to bound my way up the sturdy, stone wall which hid a vast amount of neat houses circling a huge castle.

My anger vanished at the breathtaking sight. Would this be my new home for now?
