Ready For The Crown

Zions' P.O.V.

After leaving Rain, Lady Ezmerelda, and Jessica in our room to prepare for the crowning ceremony, Orian and I walked down to the Throne Room, where the servants were running around the room, setting up all the decorations. As we walk toward the door, Orian stops to look at me. "Do you think it's really just a stomach bug?" He asks me.

"I'm not sure, but the doctor didn't seem too worried about it," I answer him as we begin walking again. We met Mathew after walking out of the Throne Room into the main hall.

"What's this I hear about a movie night?" He asks with a cocked eyebrow.

"Weren't you in the office when we discussed it?" Orian asks. I shake my head.

"No, he slipped out after I stripped Misty of her title and made her rogue," I say. "Did you really not notice?"

"Nope, to be honest, I was distracted by my mate and the fact that we need to find a new Alpha for that pathetic pack that my mate came from." Orian answers.

"Well, to answer your question, my Queen's first decision after the crowning ceremony is to have a movie night," I tell Mathew. "And she's made sure that everyone has been invited. Including the servants and the witches staying here from her mothers' coven."

"She is quite a rare Queen." He says with a laugh, and Orian and I agree.

"She is going to be the perfect Queen," Orian says. "And I'm not just saying that because she's my mates' sister."

"We need to find Kristy and Nicky. I want to see if the preparations for the crowning ceremony and the planning for our movie night are coming along." I say.

"I believe they are in the kitchen," Mathew says. I nod, and we turn to head toward the kitchen. When we reach the kitchen, I hear the servants gossiping about Rain and Odett as Mia, Annie, Kristy, and Nikky try to defend them, only to be ridiculed themselves. Ryker lets out a growl in my head as he paces back and forth as we listen to them being so hateful towards their Queen and Princess. I burst through the doors with a growl, making them jump. I stare them all down as they all bow.

"You are all fired, effective immediately," I say, not even bothering to hide my disdain for their actions. They all jerk their heads up in disbelief and begin to protest, but Mia snorts as she shakes her head. I look at her questionably.

"This isn't the first time they have been caught gossiping about the Queen and Princess. Her Highness caught them last night and never said anything to them about it. She simply ignored them. After she dismissed them from the kitchen, we asked her why she didn't reprimand them. She said it wasn't her job to tell them how wrong they were, that they would discover the truth for themselves." Mia tells me, and I nod in understanding as I turn back to the gossiping servants.

"It seems to be your lucky day, ladies. You will keep your jobs, but you'll be relocated to cleaning the dungeon area for your disrespect against the crown." I say, trying to control my anger as Ryker tries to push forward. I summoned two guards to accompany and watch over them. "You are all dismissed to go to your new position."

"Thank you for your kindness, my King." One of them says as they are escorted out of the kitchen as the four ladies who tried defending my mate watch in silence.

"I'm sorry you will be understaffed for the ceremony and movie night," I say as I turn to face Mia and Annie.

"We can handle it, my King," Annie says. "They never did much other than gossip unless under supervision anyway."

"Why is this the first time I'm hearing about this?" I ask.

"You treat us well, my King. We didn't want you to think we were ungrateful, so we never complained." Mia says as she bows to me.

"None sense. From now on, I want to be informed of these kinds of issues." I say, and they nod in understanding.

"Yes, my King." They say in unison.

"Are we on schedule for the ceremony?" I ask Nikky and Kristy.

"We are ahead of schedule, my King," Nikky says, and I nod.

"Is there anything needed for our movie night?" I ask them.

"We need extra blankets, but we have everything else we need." Kristy answers. I hand her a black card and tell her to send someone to town to get them after the crowning ceremony. "Yes, my King."

"Let me know if there are any problems," I say as Orian, Mathew, and I walk out of the kitchen and make our way to the front door of the castle. We ran into Dr.Jameson on our way.

"My King, How is the Queen feeling?" He asks after bowing.

"Better after eating. When will we receive the results of the blood test?" I ask him.

"Within a few hours. If you will excuse me from the ceremony, I can get it to you faster." He answers me.

"Thank you for your dedication, doctor," I say. "You are excused."

"I will take the blood samples now and return to the lab." He says with a bow as he walks towards the stairs.

"What's wrong with the Queen?" Mathew asks me.

"She was sick this morning. But she seems to be better now." I say.

"That's good to hear." He says and looks at his watch. "It's about time to get dressed for the crowning ceremony."

"I had your suit taken to my suit," Orian says, looking at me.

"Thank you, Orian. You're always one step ahead." I say with a laugh. We turn to make our way up the stairs to Orians suite. As we made it to the fourth floor, we were met by the makeup artist and hair stylist as they walked out of the suite that I share with Rain.

"Done already, ladies?" Orian asks them.

"Yes, Beta. With beauties like the Queen and female Beta, there isn't much work to be done." One of them says with a smile after bowing.

"Very true," I say. "Thank you, ladies."

They continued walking to the stairs as we walked into Orians' suite. I took a quick shower and quickly dressed in my royal blue and black suit. I walked out to Orians' living room, where he and Mathew sat, waiting for me. Orian saw me and smiled. "Shall we retrieve our ladies?"

"Yes, It's time," I say. I turn toward the door.

We make it to the door of my suite and hear the giggles of the ladies, making Orian and I smile. Opening the door, we walk in, and I call out to ask if they are ready. Rain says they will be out in a minute, so we sit on the couch and talk about the meeting with the council that Orian had rescheduled for after the ceremony. I'm sure that after the outburst in the dining hall, Rains' reaction to the incident, her small rant toward their actions, and the situation we are facing, will all be brought up at the meeting.

I mentally groan at the thought of having to deal with all of those stuck-up council members though Rain doesn't seem to have an issue with it. I laugh at the thought of seeing my mate put them in their place again and hear the door to our bedroom open. I turn around as they walk out, my heart skips a beat, and I'm instantly on my feet to meet my beautiful mate halfway.

"You look lovely, my Queen," I say as I reach her, wrapping my arms around her waist and pulling her into me as she giggles, trying to hide her blushing face. "Are you ready for your crowning ceremony?"

"As ready as I'll ever be." She says, and I detect a small amount of nervousness as she meets my eyes.

"Why are you nervous, my Love?" I ask, and she shrugs her shoulders.

"I'm not sure. I just have an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach." She says, making me begin to worry that something is wrong.

"Are you feeling okay?" I ask. "You're not going to be sick again, are you?"

"No, I'm okay. And the doctor said he would have the results from the blood tests back soon." She says, and I nod.

"He's going to work through your crowning ceremony," I tell her. "I hope you don't mind that he'll miss it."

"Not at all. I'm grateful to the doctor for everything he does, But as long as my family is there, no one else matters." She says with a smile as I pick up Odett. Her dress is a mixture of Rain and Jessicas' dress and matches Lady Ezmereldas perfectly.

"I'm glad to hear it. We will all be right beside you no matter what." I say, and she nods. Sam links me, letting me know that the guest have all arrived and the ceremony is about to begin. I thank him and say that we're on our way. I look down at my beautiful mate and smile, knowing that she's going to be shocked when she sees her throne and new office with her own personal library that's already been filled with books. "The ceremony will begin any minute. We should make our way to the Throne room."
