"Maybe... he was sent by God to stop us." The nun clutched the cross around her neck. It wasn't some supernatural artifact, just an ordinary religious item.
Her voice trembled with tension, "We are doing something terrible. God won't forgive us; God will punish us..."
"Ha, if God really existed, why hasn't He killed you, a nun dealing with demons and making deals with Satan?" The butcher sneered, tearing into a roasted leg of meat.
"I was forced to, William, I was forced!" The nun glared angrily at the butcher, "If it wasn't for you, you damned bastard..."
"Enough." The officer sternly interrupted her, "At this point, arguing is pointless. The ritual is about to be completed. If you think it's inappropriate, you can choose to leave."
