The One Who Reads

This is about a boy who gains power from everything he reads. He also has some other issues to deal with, like the chaos, but he is also part of the chaos. His abilities and powers will continue to grow and manifest, but which side will he stand on? P.S. I am just in 8th grade so don't judge too much, but leave some suggestions or reviews so I can continue to grow as a writer and make the story better.

Trial Day 2

I woke up, but surprisingly I wasn't hungry. In fact I was feeling better than when I walked into the dungeon. I looked around, but nothing was their, any signs of the statues existing had completely disappeared, and I was just on another rock, managing not to melt in the lava.

I stood up and looked around for another rock again, but instead found a dark path, completely different from the statue area, and gave off a warm feeling. I searched for the spacial particles, and shifted over. (Note: I'm going to be using shifted instead of teleported just because I feel teleported is overused and doesn't describe how I think shifting between spaces would work)

I walked down the path even though I couldn't see, and encountered several little creatures that appeared to be running away from someone. I walked towards the source of what they could be running from but couldn't find anything. Instead I felt an aura similar to the spirit Orion from before.

I approached it but only saw a thin man holding a blue ax. He looked like a noble with a humanoid bloodline, similar to an elf, but I couldn't tell which specific species. He didn't seem to be a corrupt species so I thought he would be safe to talk to.

"Hi, are you also here for the examination?"

"Yea, I'm Mars, what about you?"

"I'm Theia, and it seems like were the only ones that made it in so far from what happened outside."

"Yeah. Do you want to team up so we can live through this?"

"Sure."

Since he didn't react to me in a horrible way, I assumed I must look like normal. I walked over to him, and started to notice markings across his body. His markings were blue, and stretched out from his emblem, very similar to my purple markings. I was curious to ask what spirit fused into him, but also worried he might kill me if he found out what spirit I had. It seemed he didn't want to ask either for fear of the same things.

His ax on the other hand looked like it was glowing, and definitely had the same aura as the scythe I picked up. I decided it would be best to ask about that then work our way up to the markings when we could trust each other.

"Hey, your ax, I found a scythe similar to it but it's still small, how did you get yours to expand like that?"

"I killed a few monsters and it grew the more souls it absorbed, but ones of the same type became less effective so this nest I hunted did nothing for it's growth."

"Oh."

We were both silent after that, and continued on down the path. I pulled out my scythe and started attacking everything that came my way. There were little goblins, and the occasional spider that came by, but I did notice the scythe start to grow when a white gas expelled from the monsters and entered it.

We continued for about 3 hours until we decided to take a quick break and examine the progress in our weapons. I didn't know exactly how to do that, so I watched Mars check his and copied him. I put it up against my emblem and said "progress" like Mars did, and like with my status a voice popped into my head and a light flashed before my eyes. Only this time the light was purple.

"Wielder Recognized, ancient warrior of Chaos, name lost, analyzing updated servers... ... ... Orion found. Host detected, transferring ownership to new wielder... ... ... Theia Orion Numbers recognized as owner, scythe status will be revealed."

Scythe Status

Name: ???????????

Wielder: Theia Orion Numbers

Binding: Permanent

Consciousness: Dormant

Affinity: 100%

Soul Power: 0

Unleashed Level: 2 (True Level Max)

Skills: Realm of Death, True Wielder Mode

Scythe Status End

I looked over the status and saw it was probably a lot stronger than I was on its own, but was currently resting since it was inside the statue for God knows how long. I knew the skills must be very dangerous so I decided I would leave it as a trump card in fights.

After checking our status we walked some more, and fought more monsters, all fairly simple to kill, and not very notable in the book of achievements. We walked some more and the more we traveled the closer we got. As it turns out Mars is really the prince of our country, Solaris. I told him more about me, but he simply ignored it as if I was below him, which I was, but still felt sad about since was become the first person I can call a friend.

We forged forward killing everything in our path like it was nothing, I started to wonder why I didn't feel anything even from the overwhelming smell of blood. I decided to disregard it and figured it must be related to the chaos inside me. I started to wonder about all the things in my body, like why I wasn't hungry, or why I lacked human emotions when killing.

I wanted to check my status, but knew Mars would definitely become nervous if I said 'True Status,' so I decided to disregard the idea completely. Although I was curious on my progress I also knew people kill in this world over a single offense, which could even include existing, so the chaos would certainly leave me dead.

There were no issues, and we just found a small cave/room in the tunnel and decided to stay there for the night. I feel asleep, and felt Orion bugging me even more than before...

Hahaha I left a cliffhanger this time but I'll put up the next chapter soon.
