Chapter 36: Movements and Agium

"The variable of Unknown?"

「 Yes, the variable of Unknown. 」

Emily's voice was trembling as she confirmed to Philip.

"..."

「 ... 」

"So... What? Why does the tone of your voice seem trembling? Should I be scared or is this variable dangerous?"

「 ... 」

"Is it actually called the variable of 'Unknown' or the variable itself is unknown?"

「 You stupid, stupid! Baka! 」

"..."

「 Baka! Baka! 」

"Fufufu..."

「 Why are you laughing?! 」

"Fufu. Huh? Oh, it's nothing, I just find you cute when you're the one who's angry."

Emily became flustered.

"Alright Emily, please explain the new variable."

「 Uhh ahm, y-yes. It's actually the variable of Unknown. The variable is Unknown, it's not unknown. You get me? 」

"Yes yes, I get you. So, what is it about?"

「 Unknown. 」

"Unknown?"

「 Yes, it's unknown. 」

"Do... You not know it or it's just unknown?"

「 It's just unknown. 」

"Do I need to level up the system in order to reveal more information when we scan the variable of Unknown?"

「 Nope, there's no need. It's just as it is. Unknown. 」

"I see... Then, we can't do anything about that at all."

Suddenly, Philip remembered something within his abilities.

"Wait, is this variable of Unknown the same as the 『 Unknown 』 that are within my abilities?"

「 Actually, now that you mentioned it... It's different, but it's the same at the same time. 」

"This hurts my head, dealing with the Unknown really is hard."

Philip then stood up and stretched his body and extended his arms upwards. He then looked behind him and saw Erica and John lying on the ground.

"I better wake them up. Hm?"

Before Philip could wake them up, he saw shiny lights in the distance in the middle of the valley.

The valley was never there in the first place. The valley was formed in the middle of the crater of the giant Runestone and because of the Philip's barrage of attacks against the black figure earlier, a molten valley was created that stretched for hundreds of kilometers towaess the south.

Philip came close to the shining objects in the valley. As soon as he came closer, he saw six tubes that looked like scrolls in the distance.

A few moments later, Philip arrived at the floating scrolls, he then went and grabbed all of them. Then later on, the scrolls disappeared into light particles.

"Hm?"

「 You can only use Void Step when you can use all steps at the same time. Also, Void Step cannot be used inside the universe, where there is time, space, and matter. 」

"I see, so that means I can use this outside the universe?"

「 Yes, but only in the Infinite Abyss. 」

"Okay."

Philip went back to where Erica and John was lying down. He decided to wake them up now.

「 Oh yeah, Philip! 」

"Yes, Emily?"

「 Before you wake them up, I suggest you take out the Agium Blade from your 「 Hotbar 」, be careful not to get cut. 」

"Hm, okay. I promise I won't get cut."

Philip took out the Agium Blade from his 「 Hotbar 」 and he shapeshifted the ivory armor on his palm and fingers to hold the Agium Blade carefully.

"What's up, Emily. Why did you want me to take this out?"

「 The things is... The system has finished scanning the entirety of the Agium Blade and I suggest to process it now so we could use its full potential in the future. 」

"Hmm, I'm quite interested. How do we process it?"

[Do you want to process Agium Blade?]

[Yes/No]

"Oh, I see. Then, Yes."

Then, the Agium Blade glowed golden and hovered above Philip's palm. The Agium Blade then hovered higher in front of him and began to spin. The spin became faster and faster until it looked like a golden circle that released sparks every now and then.

A few minutes later, the spinning Agium Blade abruptly stopped vertically while it was still glowing golden. The Agium Blade then somewhat elongating and formed like a sword.

The golde glow then tore off from the sword like an eggshell and disappeared into light. What revealed from the golden shell is a peculiar looking sword.

The sword had no edges and it was round, like a metal baseball bat. The sword's color was still metallic silver, the same as the Agium Blade. The "blade" of the sword had metallic strings or branches in its core that can be seen outside. It seemed that the metal baseball bat was hollow and metallic spider webs was strewn about inside.

"What is this, Emily?"

「 Agium Sword. 」

Philip became excited by that news, but calmed down as he looked closer at the sword. This was nothing like a sword.

"Sword? This looks like a metal bat."

「 That's the perks of the Agium Element. 」

"Perks? What perks?"

「 As you may have remembered. The Agium Element can absorb all energies from projecticles, only, and turn that energy to its sharpness. Do you see what I'm getting at here? 」

"!!!"

「 Yes! The more you bombard it with projectiles, the more it becomes sharper. Right now, it is a blunt weapon as it is in its "Zero-Point Sharpness" state. 」

"What are we waiting for?! Let's bombard this thing with projectiles and make it a sword! I'm itching to get my hands on a sword!"

Philip was very excited to finally get a sword as a master swordsman.

「 Calm down Philip! I have a plan for that Agium Sword and you won't be using that for quite a while. 」

"What?! Is that so..."

「 Yes, I'm sorry to do this to you and I know you wanted a sword that badly, but it is for the sake of the future. If I finished my plan about that Agium Sword, you cna use it forever. 」

"Really? I see, then, what is you plan?"

「 I plan to bombard it with projectiles inside the system to sharpen it further, then when it reaches its critical sharpness, I will ask you to attack it with you most powerful Omega Laser at it. 」

"What? Why? There's no point in sharpening it that much, even a simple sharpness can make a swordsman go a long way."

「 Then let me ask you this, what happens when an unlimited and extremely powerful amount of projectiles bombarded this Agium Sword, what will happen? 」

"!!!!!"

Philip can't help but gasp loudly when Emily asked that. Energy surged out of him and golden aura enveloped him because of his excitement.

"Infinite Sharpness!"

「 Now you get it! But sadly, at your stage, we cannot achieve that for now and I can only increase its sharpness to the critical point. 」

"I see, that is fine. We needed balance here and if we ever arrive at that point, we would be very overpowered."

「 Indeed. 」

Philip immediately calmed down and sealed his rampaging energy and aura around him. He then lent the metal bat to Emily inside the system to sharpen it. He can't access the Agium Sword in the his 「 Inventory 」 or 「 Hotbar 」 because of that.

He then went ahead and woke up Erica and John. They were groggy when they woke up, but Erica immediately snapped out from her grogginess.

"Philip?! Philip!! Are you alright?! Waaah!!"

Erica jumped toward Philip's chest and hugged him while crying and making sure he was okay. Unknown to Philip, Erica was actually greatly affected when she saw the black figure, she fought her fear and managed to do everything she can to help Philip.

"Damn you Philip, whatever I saw back there was extremely dangerous. I'm glad you have defeated it."

John complained at Philip while he was sitting and supporting his body with his left arm and his right arm on top of his raised right knee.

"Haha."

At this point, the 「 Shard of Love 」 was hovering while spinning and rotating above Erica's head whil she was sobbing. Philip hugged her back with his left hand and patted her head with his right hand.

The sun slowly set in the horizon as Philip gently smiled while Erica was still sobbing and John composed himself while closing his eyes.

Unknown to the people living in Earthrune, the moon was ejecting a blue colored blaze of fire from the east side of the moon that extended for over 6,000 kilometers. The moon slowed down its revolution and rotation unimaginably. In a few hours, the moon will be back to its original speed of rotation and revolution.
