Chapter 2.1: Eduardo Ylo (POV)

My name is Eduardo Ylo. I am Philip's best friend and partner ever since we were in our junior high school. I have a wife, her name is Ysabelle. I am a lucky man to have her as my wife.

I am an inventor and a scientist, the same as Philip. If Philip trained as a swordsman, I trained as a martial artist. I trained at the northern and southern mountains of China, combining both martial techniques into one and turning it into my own.

The Buddhist monks there have entitled me, The Enlightened Master Martial Artist after combining the northern and southern martial techniques into one, which I called Fēng Kung Fu.

This was recognized by the sole spirit of Sun Wukong and therefore taught me on how to use a staff and the remaining eastern and western martial techniques. I once again combined four martial techniques and became Nir-Kung Fu, short for Nirvana Kung Fu.

Sun Wukong was surprised at the development. Of course I'm a genius, after Philip of course. Sun Wukong said that he has nothing left to teach me and gave me a necklace, chained to a stone rod, half the size of my pinky and a diameter of a toothpick.

I don't know what this necklace is for, but I thanked Sun Wukong for it.

Chinese legends may be a fantasy, a legend. But what I went through is real and I have been carrying his teachings until today. I plan to learn other martial arts located around the world and all kinds of jutsu and ki control. But that's for the future.

I woke up early because I have to prepare my prided complex for my best friend. I then got out of bed and grabbed my wristwatch and checked the time. It's currently 3:23 am midnight.

I then prepare myself and went to wake Ysabelle up.

"Hey Sasa, wake up. It's the special day for Philip."

"Hrrrmmm... Is it already today?"

"Yes, we gotta get moving and prepare the complex for him."

Ysabelle then got out of bed and prepared herself. I call her Sasa as her nickname around the house. She's so cute and beautiful!

Almost an hour later, we drove towards the complex. Ysabelle is seated next to me, she is currently making work of her two laptops with six holographic screens projected in the air and a cellphone. Of course her seatbelt is on.

"Hey Eduardo."

"Yes, Sasa?" I asked while looking at Ysabelle's concerned expression.

"I am picking up an anomaly in space, particularly around the Solar System, but I can't pinpoint at what it is and it's driving me crazy!" Ysabelle was very concerned about this anomaly.

"Hey, don't beat yourself up. All of the space agencies in the world should have also picked up that anomaly, right? They should have contacted you to let you know, right?" I tried to comfort Ysabelle.

"I guess you're right. But it still bothers me. Anyways, I gotta clear my mind so that we could properly prepare the complex for Philip."

"That's the stuff, I'm sure that anomaly is nothing. If something might happen, the Earth has advanced enough to protect herself against harm from outer space!" I reassured Ysabelle.

"You're right, thanks." Ysabelle smiled and closed her laptops and turned off the holographic projections.

30 minutes later, we have arrived at the complex. We prepared everything according to standards and as per Philip's personal requests.

"This place will be filled with important people from around the world!" I exclaimed.

"Yup, and we need to tighten our security for this. This will be the most secured place in the planet for half a day. Not even an ant can enter here without permission." Ysabelle boasted.

As hours went by, it is almost time for Philip to arrive. I then called out to Ysabelle.

"Ysabelle, I would like you to go and fetch Philip personally and guide him here. Is that alright with you? I have some last minute preparations to do here." I gently asked Ysabelle.

"Huh? Yes of course, gladly."

I smiled as Ysabelle disappear from the corridor. I know Philip and Ysabelle had a history when we were at junior high school. In fact, we held a competition as to whoever gets Ysabelle's heart first, wins! It's pretty obvious who one.

I know Philip respected the results, I also know he became sad and depressed and didn't contact us for who knows how long. But to this day, all of us three are happy having each other's companies. It's only a shame that Philip hasn't got anyone that he's interested in.

A few minutes later, I saw Ysabelle walking towards me with Philip following behind her. Damn that Philip, he is too insecure and chose to walk behind her and not beside her. You know that I wouldn't get mad or anything! Does he feel awkward walking beside her? Haha! That's so funny, Philip, no wonder you're still single up till now.

As I mentally mocked Philip, I looked at Ysabelle. Damn she's so beautiful!!! Her red dress emphasizes her curves and ample bosom. Her long silky black hair with her matching sparkling black eyes. Red lips and her Duchess nose. Finally, her long white legs. She's too perfect!

What's even more special of her is her height. She's only 5 feet and 8 inches or 172.72 centimeters. She's just adorable!

I approached Ysabelle and kissed her forehead. Half of the reason is she's just too precious, the other half is to mentally mock Philip for being single, but no hard feelings.

'Wait, what is this?!' I mentally said to myself.

Philip is being bothered by something. I approached him and talked to him.

After a minute of conversation. The time has finaly come for Philip. There's nothing too important as to what is bothering Philip. He may don't want to tell us or he can't tell us, but part of me says that he doesn't know what's bothering him.

I then gave words if encouragement to Philip before he entered the stage.

"Go get them, tiger!" Ysabelle said to Philip.

I was surprised that Ysabelle said that, but I know there's no meaning there. She just wants to encourage our friend that's all. No, I'm not jealous, what are you talking about?! Stupid brain!

A few minutes later, Philip revealed his creation. The Philippium element. I was curios as to what is special about his creation and what abilities and power it has.

Truth be told, I have already created an element before Philip, it was three years ago before Philip went into seclusion to make his own element.

I named it after myself, of course that's what people did when they made or discovered something. The Ylium (il-yu-m) element, I just add the -ium to make surname, Ylo. At least there is uniqueness rather than Philippium, but I must admit, Philippium rolls off the tongue better.

Ylium was a rock or mineral that I discovered from a meteorite that crashed before my eyes near the mountain of Sun Wukong. I went near it and saw a glossy black meteorite. When I broke the meteorite, air came gushing out of the cracks like a windstorm and revealed a dirty yellow colored crystal in it. It looks like a crystal, but in actuality, it's a mineral. I wasn't disturbed by the windstorm as I tempered my body during my training in China. That windstorm was like a gust of wind from my body.

I went ahead and grabbed the crystal and what happened after scared me to the point I became unconscious and wanted to die as instinct kicked a moment later. I felt insane amounts of vertigo as I became unconscious.

I woke up on a bed deep in the mountains, I saw the crystal sitting on this glossy black plate. I looked around and came to a conclusion that I am in Sun Wukong's shrine.

The spirit of Sun Wukong said that I have been unconscious for nearly a month. He showed me what happened. He heard a loud explosion and went to investigate. The tallest and biggest mountain, about more than a half quarter larger than Mt. Everest, around Sun Wukong's place was gouged out of the ground and was destroyed revealing a huge crater. He spotted me at the center of the crater with my right hand being mutilated and my body distorted beyond recognition. Sun Wukong healed me these past month.

Truthfully, I haven't publicized this crystal yet and kept it in my home. I only told it to a bunch of close friends. After some research and experimentation. I found out that this crystal doesn't exist in the Earth, this is a first discovery of a new element. I also found out that this glossy black material is made of graphene, which can resist the force of the Ylium.

As to what ability it has. I know for sure that it release a gigantic amount of force as to whatever it touches. As to how much. I did not test it because I don't want to end up being like that on China again. One day, I accidentally dropped a crumpled paper on it and the force made the paper turn into shreds and the shreds pierced through the wall like a shotgun made out of lasers and made countless small holes on my wall. Good thing I wasn't hit by those.

A month ago, I sent the Ylium to my team of researchers to study the element. My team was on Antarctica to test it so that it won't bother other countries went accidents happen.

As I listened to Philip's presentation, I was surprised that his element can disintegrate objects within 2 centimeters of its body. It can even disintegrate air and light! Impressive.

I am also impressed that Philip made a super mineral called 500% diamond. Wait, he also discovered that 500% diamond also forms naturally in Earth's core? Damn Philip, you've done it again, huh?

As I listen to Philip more and more, more surprises came. This is ridiculous. Did he just say, current mode? The element has modes? What is this?! A stone from a magical or super scientific world?!

Five modes huh? That's a lot.

As I patiently listened to Philip's explanation of the two modes. I was surprised at his statement.

"Now, the third and final mode..."

I thought he said five modes?! I don't know what you are doing Philip, but all this mysteriousness will only make trouble for you. I wonder if the two last modes are extremely dangerous because each modes can unlock certain concepts that it can disintegrate as it is progressing higher in the rank of modes. Maybe time and space? or energy? Gravity? I got shivers just thinking about it.

As Philip reached to the phases of his element. I was internally surprised when he described the liquid phase. Just by thinking of it, I can already think of many possible applications that this liquid can go! What if I coated a bullet from a handgun? I can one shot those super armored tanks and render them useless. What if I coated my fists?! I can literally punch anything and it will disintegrate whatever I punch!

This is just insane! How did you do this Philip?!

As I thought that the surprises are over and thought that the gaseous state of this element is nothing special, boy I was so wrong. Again, I was shocked!

You can inhale Philippium gas just like oxygen and reuse it completely?! It's like a perpetual source of oxygen. Say goodbye to oxygen tanks! Say goodbye to shuttles that needs a large amount of room for oxygen! Just fill your helmet with this gas and your free to roam the universe wherever you want!

This is literally an object from another world! I need to have a talk as to where did Philip got this!

A few more minutes later, I watched the staff as they set up a dummy with a riot shied and gave Philip a wooden sword.

'Why would Philip show his skills as a swordsman?' As I asked this question inside me, I saw Philip pour the liquid on the wooden sword. So, he's going to demonstrate the power of the element, huh?

As Philip went into a stance, I was sucked in as if I'm watching a sword god entering a battle stance.

What is this?! This is too real! I knew Philip trained as a swordsman, but I don't know how he trained or where!

As Philip launched his sword strike, I was immersed as Philip gracefully dance on the stage towards the dummy. My eyes was locked on the sword as if I'm watching a leaf falling down from a tree. The leaf sliced the dummy. It was over. The leaf peacefully landed on the ground as Philip settled his sword beside him.

I was suddenly sucked back into reality. What I witnessed was just mind blowing! What the heck was that?! I really needed to talk to Philip.

Then my attention was caught as the sliced riot shield and dummy fell on the floor. That's pretty amazing, I know the riot shield was made of the strongest alloy in the world, Tungsten-Titanium Cobalt alloy, or TTC alloy for short and it has been sliced just like that.

In the end, he really showed his skills as a swordsman. I don't know if he's boasting or not, but I don't care. That performance was just too beautiful! And I'm not mocking him or anything, that's just my honest opinion.

Although, I wonder. Why go through all that sword dance or whatever if he could only slice the dummy effortlessly like that and be done with it? With this, others will say that he sliced the dummy with his sword skills, others will say it's because of the element, and others will say that the shield and dummy has already been cut.

I don't know what you're planning Philip. Are you just boasting?!!
