Chapter 4: Is it fate...?

The morning of the same day

MIRANDA'S POV -

I raced to the computer and sat down on the computer to check for e - mails as soon as I had barely managed to open my eyes.

Normally, I hardly ever responded to my e - mails but today was different. It was the day on which a single e - mail would make or mar my future.

I checked my inbox and almost fell backwards as I saw the acceptance letter from Hexford University (AKA : the university of my dreams). The one for which I had begged my mother and even threw tantrums to go to. My mom was clearly distressed at first as it was a few states away.

But it was the only reason which had prompted me to go there. To be my own person and enjoy life without my mother's controlling clutches.

Happy tears had sprung in my eyes as I now raced to hug my mother who stood at the door of my room now, a little tense. But she did hug me back.

She knew that she couldn't stop me this time.

My mind now wandered to my two best friends. Would they be there too or would we get seperated?

Only time could tell that.

SAMARAH'S POV -

( That same morning)

My eyes shot open as I gasped.

In the dim light, I could trace out the features of my room.

Thank Goodness, I was still in my room and not in the dark alley with the creature having red eyes.

Recently, my nightmares had become more incessant than ever although I had them ever since childhood and had learned to live with them.

However, this was happening due to the stress for college admissions.

Oh. My. God.

The e - mail was supposed to come today. Although my room was in darkness due to the blinds being closed, I could make out that it was past afternoon at this point.

I hurriedly picked up my tablet from my bed stand and began to check my messages. From the notifications I saw two messages, the more recent ones from He.........

I panicked thinking that it was my favourite college Heartfield, that I very much wanted to get in due to their extremely good music lessons.

But as soon as I opened my inbox, it showed only one message, that too from Hexford.

Guess I got happy a little too early but I'll take what I get. Now, my only wish was somehow to get reunited with my dear friends. I had missed them and no matter how much time we got together, it would never be enough.

I got down from my bed as I realized that by the time I reached Hexford, it would be late in the evening, as I stretched my body and prepared for the long ride ahead.
