Prologue (2)

After the series of crimes was solved, I automatically inherited my "parents" assets as they had no other living relatives. It was as expected, a small amount that was enough to support me until I turned 18.

I had to switch to a high school that was far away from my previous one, where I managed to achieve decent grades. Unfortunately, I couldn't pursue higher education as I neither had the money nor the time to do so. Therefore, I immediately started working full-time at the age of 18.

Luckily, I met a co-worker at my workplace who became my only friend in life. They recommended many interesting novels and shows to read whenever I was bored. Reading these novels allowed me to imagine a world outside of my own, where everything was possible, and an individual could change the course of the world in an instant.

One day, while browsing the internet for my next binge-read, I stumbled upon an interesting novel series. It had two completed books and one upcoming.

The first book was published 10 years ago, a year before my brother passed away. It was about a main character who lost his parent's at a young age and he and his twin brother were raised by their aunt, they grew up extremely poor and the main character started to work from 14 to help out with the bills and provide for his family.

Two years later, he received a cheat due to an unexpected incident that allowed him to catch up with his peers in three months. The main character ranked first in the academy and had a rival, comrades, and love interests. He travelled the world, saved lives, became the strongest. In the end, he tried to save the world from the "others" but failed.

The second book was released a year after the first and finished just last month. It was based on the same world as the first book, it was about a man who transmigrated into the first book two months before the story started. The man's background story was not clear as he couldn't remember much about his past.

All that was known was that he was from another world. The man transmigrated into the body of someone who had a happy home and life, he had two successful rich parents, two talented older siblings although there was one problem. The body he transmigrated into was untalented, had a below average appearance and there was no way he could help the protagonist into stopping the world from ending in his current state.

With the knowledge he had about book one, he took cheats that were supposed to belong to side characters, villains and even the main character to level up quickly. He did this to stop the world from ending.

The man and the main character became enemies as the second book progressed because their ideals clashed. The main character wanted to save everyone, but that would lead to the end of the world. The man wanted to sacrifice a lot of life's to save the world. They fought at a crucial time, and their powers destroyed everything.

It is unknown whether the destruction also destroyed the "others." The second book ended with a cliffhanger.

I had been eagerly anticipating the third book. My excitement grew as I searched the internet for any hints or clues about what might happen in the upcoming book. That's when I stumbled upon a comment by the author revealing that a new vital character would be introduced in this book and in this story, they would be the main character. I couldn't wait for the next chapter to come.

On that fateful day, I headed to the train station to make my way to work. I knew that getting a good seat on the train was important, so I made sure to arrive early and position myself close to the tracks to save two seats for myself. I waited as the train drew near.

But suddenly, out of nowhere, I was pushed from behind with great force. I lost my balance and fell onto the tracks, looking up just in time to see a man standing over me with a smile on his face.

The next thing I knew, the train was hit me hard, I felt intense pain and after a while, everything went dark.
