Chapter-16 Who is Lucas Theon?

'The system was, as the name implies, a world devouring system!!'

Karna was more bewildered now after getting the information in his mind, and he tried his best not to show it on his face to not spook the two demons with him.

The information that he got from this system was like a user's manual for him to utilise the system. He knew the system's name and many of its functions that he could currently use.

It was just that its functions were too amazing for him to believe.

There were many questions that he wanted to ask the system, like who created you, are you similar to the heavenly system, and when the heck did you get inside his body? For the last one, he had an answer, but he still wanted to be sure.

But all of this could wait because, right now, this system was his only hope to survive the situation he was in.

He commanded it in his head to show him his status window, and the next moment the same green screen appeared and floated in mid-air in front of his eyes.

Seeing his status window, Karna had only two thoughts in his mind: one, it was too long, and two, his stats were average.

But just as he was about to order the system to close the screen, "Huh?" Karna's eyes glued on the name part of the screen. He closed his eyes and then opened them again, hoping that he was seeing wrong, but the name on it still was: Lucas Theon.

"???"

'Sh*t, is my system broken?' Karna cursed and thought in his mind before shacking his off this idea and the spoke the system in his head 'Umm, system, I think there has been some kind of mistake because that's not my name.'

'No-no-no My name is Karna. I know my mind is completely messed up due to all the sh*t I have gone through, but I am 100% sure my name is Kirna; I mean Karna. Dangit!'

Hearing the response of the system in his head. Karna turned quiet, because he knew what this mana archive that the system was talking about was, in every realm where mana exists, this thing called a mana archive would also come to exist. It's also known as Akashic Records; which I think suits it better because it's like an unseen library.

It stores information about every living and non-living thing that is present in its world. Every world has mana as one; and the system has a feature that allows it to read all that data and even copy from it if some conditions are met.

'System, can you tell me why my name in the Mana Archive is "Lucas Theon"?' Karna asked, hoping to get an answer.

[Host's name was altered by the system with a forceful editing in the mana archive for verification purposes.]

Hearing the answer, Karna started to remember the time he first heard the system's voice. 'If I remember correctly, the system scanned my body first to verify me, but it was not successfully verified; then it tried to verify me by confirming my name with the name recorded in its system database, but my name didn't match, and once again it was not able to verify me; and after that, the unbearable pain came.'

'Hmmm, so you changed my name to verify me. Well, it's just a name. I can use it as a false identity in this world.' Karna thought to himself.

'Wait! Is this Lucas Theon guy your past owner?'

[Host is my first user. Once I bind myself to someone's soul, we are bound for all eternity.]

'Whoa!' Karna felt like his system was a little romantic. He shook his head in his mind, and again asked in his mind.

'Then who is this Lucas Theon?'

'Sigh… I don't have time nor energy for this. I don't care what you call me anymore; just help me.'

[Please give an order]

'Show me the stats window of the demon in front of me.' Karan commanded in his mind.

The system was able to provide him all the basic information about any entity he was looking at, such as their name, age, class, stat points, and so on.

'Definitely, I have to avoid directly fighting with him. I don't know the stats of the thin-looking demon because I couldn't turn back to look at him, which I needed to do to see his stats, but I was sure his stats should also be the same as or less than Divox's.'

I had to think of a plan to avoid any direct confrontation with these two demons.

'Hmm. Show me a map of my surroundings.' Karna thought in his mind, and the next moment a virtual map in 2D appeared in front of him. 'Zoom in towards that mountain and show me that in 3D.'

Following his order, the system zoomed towards the mountain and displayed a 3D map of the mountain. The map was just like those holographic maps shown in those sci-fi movies.

Karna observed the 3D map of the mountain in the direction in which they were walking right now. The map was shaped in green lines showing the curves and structure of it, but there was also a blue line on it that was coming out of the mountain and then rapidly descending downward, which the system told him was a waterfall, and then it divided into two rivers, one of which went opposite to them and the other one they should be seeing soon.

'Zoom into that part of the mountain.' Karan focused on a particular location. It was the waterfall that gave birth to the two rivers. 'If what he was thinking was possible, then he might just... hmm.'

'Tell me about the pathway of this river, any kind of pathway...'
