The Dream

A rainy night, a person with a beard & long hair walks into the room with a mask on his face where he finds a man sleeping in his bed. The unknown person walks close to the person lying in the bed with a knife on his hand. He shouts Jack & kills the sleeping person by cutting his throat, jack wakes up from his dream.

He becomes frightened at first because of the dream he had and starts his daily routine by going for the bath. After that he does breakfast & becomes ready for his work as like every normal day. He was all set up for his work, at this point he had already forgotten the dream he had. He gets out from his room and while closing the door, he finds that the lock of his door was broken as if somebody had been to his house. On the way to his working place, he finds that every person staring at him as he had committed any crime. Seeing the people's reaction towards him, he becomes more frightened & runs back to his house, closes the door & starts wondering why the people were staring at him. He hadn't had any clue & was so terrified that he goes to the basin to wash his face; he sees blood on his shirt which wasn't at the time when he wore the shirt at the morning being ready for the work. He becomes shocked & every other emotions comes to his head, asks himself, "first the nightmare & now this", he changes those clothes & runs to his brothers house. This time again he finds every person staring at him. After reaching to his brother's house, he rings the bell of his brothers house "Ting-Tong" "Ting-Tong" but no one answered. After the fifth tone, the door opens & again he sees the same person which he had seen in his dream the previous night, same bearded guy with a long hair & a scarf covering his face. Before jack could react on the situation, the person shouts jack & cuts jacks throat, jack wakes up from his dream.

"That was a hell of nightmare" he says to himself & begins his day as every other days. He drinks tea, reading newspaper, where he finds an interesting & a shocking news that an unsound minded person escaped from asylum & is nowhere to be found. The description of the person of the newspaper was about the same person he had seen on his dream, with the news, the dream flashes in his head. Again he feels something is wrong, but he didn't know what to do & what was happening with him. He suddenly thinks "Is this also a dream or what?" he becomes more frightened & tries to find out whether it is a dream or not by going outside the house & if the people outside stare at him, he would know that it is a dream. He walks outside the house & while locking the door, he finds out that his door lock was broken, he becomes more scared & frightened than he was before. Everything was now beginning to repeat itself. After finding his lock broken, he was so clear that it was a dream but he wanted to be sure that it was a dream. He turns back to go the street to see if people would stare at him as like before but as soon as he turns behind, he hears a voice jack & the same person cuts his throat with a knife & Jack wakes up from his dream.

He was becoming so obsessed with the dream, he couldn't think of anything beside that & now finally he tries to stay calm & think about what is happening to him & how will this come to an end. He thinks that if he could find out the person & killed him instead, he will be free from the nightmare. He recalls his dream & finds out whenever he wasn't expecting anything to go wrong, he died. First at his bed, secondly at his brothers house & thirdly when he tried to close the door lock. Now this was the time when he was going for the hunt himself for the killer whom he was killing him again & again. He finally began the hunt but this time he was being very careful about every step he was taking, since he was going to kill the killer so he grabs a knife & also a small mirror so that he could look behind him. As all before, this time also the lock was broken, the only difference was he was breathing even after stepping out of his house, he began to build up a little bit of confidence that now he will find the killer and kill him instead. So he starts from the beginning, the house death was out from the option as he left the house and was alive. The second death in his brother's house, he runs towards his brother's house as like before. The people on the street were staring at him as like before but this time he wasn't feeling scared as it had already happened before and & he was very sure that it was a dream. Reaching his brothers house instead of ringing the door bell like before, he breaks into the house from the backdoor. He now inspect his brothers house but finds nothing unusual, everything was right at the place where it had to be but there was no sign of his brother. He moves towards his brother's room where he sees some drops of blood which he had no clue about. Seeing the blood, he starts becoming scared thinking if the killer had killed his brother instead of him as the killer was nowhere near him all day. He was helpless & hopeless at the very moment looking the drops of blood. He couldn't do anything to find his brother or the trace of blood in his brother's room. He was tired of everything because he couldn't bear the happenings any longer.

Suddenly he hears a sound as if someone had opened the front door. He runs towards the sound to find out what was the reason behind the sound, he sees the same person from his dream leaving the house. He follows the man but that man was long gone before jack reached to the front door. Again he was completely blank, he was at the same stage where he started from, he recalls the nightmare, the blood, and he couldn't control his tears & cries out so loud sitting outside his brother's house. It was becoming so dark & was raining heavily; he was so pissed out of himself as he couldn't find the person killing him, who was the reason behind his nightmare. He walks towards his house (with tears on his eyes) as it was getting dark. He was so tired of the day that after reaching his house, he goes directly to the bedroom to get some sleep where he sees a person lying in his bed.

He moves towards the person sleeping on his bed, he sees himself in his bed & now his world began to crumble itself as all the time it was just the imagination of him which had made him like that. He says jack but no one was there, this was his hallucination that he was seeing some other person killing him but in fact it was him all the time. Moments of past incident flashes in his memory & in his eyes. He finally find out that in reality he had killed his brother while he was sleeping in his room just because his brother had scolded him because of his drinking behavior. After that incident, he was sent to the jail & because of the regret of killing his brother; he was becoming mentally sick & was transferred to mental asylum. Every day he would see a person killing him but it was only his imagination & the regret of his crime that he wanted to kill himself as he thought it would be the right justice for him for killing his brother. Now he was out from his imagination world and was living in reality, all the nightmares were about to end because he had finally find out the reason behind all this. Being in the reality, he was so angry on himself, he couldn't face the reality of himself killing his brother so with this regret, he couldn't bear his presence any longer that he commits suicide, the moment he was out from his breath, Jack wakes up from his dream.
