In the Reinhart estate, there was a large training grounds, used to test and practice skills. Currently, standing still, with a sword in his hands was Daniel. He had been practicing his sword skills for around an hour.
The skill book he bought from the Tower, had been the basics of swordsmanship, and the route for weapon development. Understanding your weapon and utilizing that knowledge can lead to great power.
From the book, Daniel learned about three of the stages in weapon understanding.
Stage 1- One with the weapon.
Stage 2- Weapon Intent.
Stage 3- Weapon Heart.
The book stated that there are more stages in weapon understanding, but are unknown to the author.
Daniel had been practicing the basic forms of stab, slice, lunge, and parry. It was fairly simple for Daniel. With his Stage 1 Reality Mind, control of his body was a simple feat for him. In a matter of an hour he had mastered the basic sword skills.
The description on how to enter the 'one with the weapon' stage was very vague. As it stood right now, Daniel had practically no room for further improvement. Perhaps it would take a bit of inspiration to reach the first stage.
Wiping the sweat off his face, Daniel took a sip of water. It was now time for him to practice the movement technique, 'Flash Steps'. Supposedly, if one were to practice this movement technique to the limit, the user would appear to move so fast that they could instantly appear in front of their enemy.
However, in order to achieve that realm, you had to have some understanding of an element related to speed. Elements like light, lightning, space, or even time.
Fortunately, that is only the requirement to reach the highest level. Daniel could still practice the technique, and improve his speed greatly.
Another hour passed, as Daniel could now be seen moving like a blur in the practice grounds. His body would appear in one place, then the next moment a black streak could be seen, followed by Daniel's reappearance.
Two techniques that Daniel assumed he'd be practicing the whole month, had been mastered by him in two hours. He felt a bit surreal. His understanding ability had improved to a level that far surpassed any human standards. Sometimes, he even wondered if he could even still be considered human.
With his training done, Daniel found himself with a large amount of time on his hands. Perhaps now was the time to figure out how to make some money. He felt that it was necessary to have his own place to stay.
Walking back to his room, he quickly took a shower and put on a fresh pair of clothes.
Logging on to the web via his I-Holo, he started to do some research on areas that could bring him profit. Daniel flashed through one screen after another at an unbelievable speed. After a few minutes, Daniel stopped his searching. He realized that making money is a lot harder than he thought.
The easiest way was to sell some items you received from the Tower that you no longer need. Such as weapons, or extra materials. He felt that this was a viable option, but currently, it would be rare for him so have anything he doesn't need.
Making money in the technology or scientific field, was also going to be an issue. Most products that people want, who aren't Climbers, are things that make their lives easier. With Daniel's ability, he could come up with something, but he felt that it was not the best usage of his time.
The research that he was wanting to do, was making weapons, and products that could help him survive in the Tower. Due to the Tower's rules, he couldn't sell these weapons either. As only the weapons you build yourself, can enter the Tower.
That's when the idea hit him. He doesn't need to sell the finished weapon to other climbers. He can just sell a step by step video of how he built the weapon. With this, the Climbers can build the weapon themselves, and it won't violate any of the Tower's rules.
With the idea in place, Daniel now had to find some start up capital. He had to have a lab, and material to get started.
Thus, it led to Daniel standing awkwardly outside Lily's door. Letting out a sigh, he built up the courage to knock on the door.
A moment later, the door opened and a sleepy looking Lily appeared in Daniel's view.
She raised one eyebrow, while looking at Daniel, "Why are you here?"
Daniel scratched his head awkwardly, and asked, "Um can I come in and talk?
She thought for a moment, but eventually turned her body, allowing him tom enter her room.
"You just left my room, now you're back. Don't think I'll take care of you anymore. That was only because my Mom made me." Said Lily. Even talking about the experience seemed to irritate her.
Daniel quickly shook his head, "No no, I'm not here for anything like that. I'm actually here to make a business deal between us."
This got Lily's attention. She stopped playing with her hair, and gave him a serious look, "What kind of business deal?"
"Well, because of some of my abilities, I'm really good at creating and experimenting. What I want to do is create a lab, and start a service where people ask for weapons or gear and I create it. Where you come in, is that I don't have any money." Said Daniel.
Lily looked at him and shook her head, "That sounds great and all, but people can only bring things into the Tower they make themselves. Sigh, you should really do more research before pitching ideas. I was taking a great nap before you came in." Seeming exhausted by the whole conversation, she flopped face first back onto her bead.
Daniel walked over to her bed, and poked her head, "You didn't let me finish. You should really ask more questions before coming to a decision. Sigh, and here I was trying to make us a ton of money."
He turned around and started too slowly walk towards her door.
Lily jumped up from her bed, and shouted, "Wait! what are you talking about?"
Daniel smiled slyly. The fish had taken the bait. Daniel went on to explain his plan, and how he would make videos for the client. Lily seemed to dig the idea, and was willing to pay for a lab and starting materials.
The next step was the negotiations. Lily wanted 5% of every sale he made, which resulted in Daniel laughing in her face. He had to do all the work, and he would be creating all the products.
Realizing that she was being greedy, Lily came back asking for 4.9% of every sale.
Daniel could only sigh in misery. Being a business partner with such a person seemed like a huge mistake.
After threatening to take the business offer to Sarah, Lily finally agreed upon taking 0.5% for every sale. This was a tolerable price for Daniel. He would be getting a lab and materials, while only having to lose a small amount of money on each sale.
Lily on the other hand, looked as if her Mother, Dog, and all her loved ones died in a plane crash. Clearly, she felt that she got the worse end of the deal.
Daniel pulled up a contract from his I-Holo. He and Lily each signed. Next, Daniel had to wait for Lily to acquire the lab and materials. He gave Lily a list of materials, as he already had an idea for his first project.
His first project would be to showcase his skills. He then would start accepting jobs upon request.
Returning to his room, Daniel got to work on creating the website for his business. This would take a bit of time, but he was in no rush.
He knew that once he finished his first project and posted it on the website, it was going to bring in a storm of business!
