THE MISCARRIAGE

CHAPTER 7

Ronin apologized to his wife for how he treated her. He understood her and the pain she was going through. He made her to believe he was truly sorry and said all what he said out of anger.

He loved her and didn't want anything to hurt her. She too apologized to him and they made up. He didn't care about what she ate. He did everything to make her happy.

Andrew noticed this whenever they visited, everything went on fine and there were no complaints. He was surprised as well as his wife. He asked him what changed and asked whether the child was removed but Mary told him it wasn't, her husband had agreed to terms with her.

Serah was happy for them and hugged Mary while Andrew was still confused. He couldn't believe how Ronin could do this. He knew that he was up to something and decided to find out.

The women were still chatting when he excused Ronin out for a "walk." On their way, Andrew asked him what he was thinking. Ronin said it was nothing but he didn't believe him and asked him to tell him the truth.

He had no choice than to tell him. They were best friends and he can't hide things from him so he told him his intentions. He planned on drugging his wife after they have settled. Andrew was scared and asked if it won't hurt her. Ronin reminded him that he was a doctor so he knew what to do.

It was a perfect plan and he told Andrew not to tell anyone about it, not his wife Mary. He promised him he won't. They chatted on other things such as work, etc as they strolled down the house.

Ronin brought for his wife cold orange juice as they reclined on a chair in the compund. It was a hot afternoon and a cold orange juice will be just the best at that moment.

Unknown to Mary, it was drugged. Ronin watched her as she sipped the drink until she had emptied the contents. He cleared the table but before he could come back, she was already asleep.

He took her in and carefully laid her to on the bed. She slept for three hours. Ronin did everything normal without any sign of worry in him. Andrew called and asked him how it went and he said it went well. She would soon lose the baby.

That same day in the evening, she started bleeding but she didn't notice it. She was coming downstairs when Ronin saw it and he called out to her. She looked at him wondering why he was calling her when she missed her step and was about falling.

He rushed to her and was right in time as he caught her. He rushed her to the hospital as she kept crying of her baby. After some minutes drive they had arrived at the hospital and she was attended to. The nurse later came in and told them that she had lost the pregnancy.

He was happy inside of him while she started crying like someone that had lost her child. Indeed she had really lost her child. Her husband and the nurse comforted her. He was the one who planned everything. He made it look like it she miscarried the baby.

Andrew and his wife were informed about it. The pastor too was later called and was told thesame thing. They were all happy except for Mary. Serah too wasn't happy about it. She understood the pain of a mother and felt for Mary as she encouraged her that is not the end if the world.

Everything went on normal after some months. Mary got a transfer letter to another country, her husband wasn't happy about it because he would be away from her but he allowed her to go. They were still communicating on phone as he called her almost daily. She was happy to hear from him as they kept in touch with each other.

She started to feel different within her after two months. She wondered what was the problem, also she felt some movement below her abdomen. She felt uncomfortable and decided to visit the hospital. She was shocked to see the test results. She was pregnant! How was that possible she asked herself.

She had lost her baby and she had the test results so how was this possible? And she couldn't have conceived after she had been away from her husband for some weeks now. As if seeing the worry on her face, the doctor told her she was six months pregnant. That was unbelievable. How come it never showed?

She wondered what was the problem. She wanted to call her husband and tell him everything but was scared. He may think she was seeing another man and got pregnant for him and want to claim it was his or he may want the child dead as the first one.

She decided to keep it away from him. She called him when she went home in the evening and asked him if he had the test results of her miscarriage. He told her he did and asked why she was asking. She said it was nothing, as she came up with some excuses after which she asked him to snap it for her and send which he did.

She went through it and saw that everything was real. Then how come this pregnancy? She told the doctor who had become a friend about it. She told her that she got pregnant before but had miscarriage when it was two months. She even showed her the papers in her phone and asked her how it was possible to get pregnant with the age of the child.

The doctor told her that it was possibly a fake result. She never miscarried probably even though the results were positive. Mary decided to keep it a secret from her husband until she had given birth.
