The flames dance in the fireplace, casting a warm glow across the cozy cabin. I sit in front of the flickering fire, my gaze fixed on the window as delicate snowflakes fall from the night sky. I had told my family that I needed some time alone, that I couldn't bring myself to leave Montana and return to Texas for the upcoming semester at nursing school.
