The Mirror. Chapter 3. Mira

Mira POV.

I tried to push Wendy from me. But to no avail. She had me pinned to the wall, and my muscles weren't working correctly, from all the oxygen I was lacking.

She was still screaming at me, but I couldn't understand the words, my  vision was blurry, and I wasn't thinking correctly. I  felt my body sag against the wall.

I vaguely saw a blob in front of me that was Wendy's face, then suddenly out of nowhere another blob appeared in the door, it looked vaguely familiar.

The blob at the door advanced toward us. Suddenly 'Blob Wendy' ripped away from me as 'Blob the Familiar held her shoulders and shook her.

I rubbed my neck as I thankfully gulped in the air. I tried to keep my eyes open, but I felt my knees buckle , and saw the floor rushing up to meet me.

My last thought was: 'Not the bathroom floor'.

        Then everything went black.

                                                                                                            *              *              *

The first thing I felt when I came to consciousness, was: air rushing into me down my throat.

My head felt like it was going to explode, and my throat ached. but I felt a warmth enveloping me.

        Wait....why was am i warm?

my eyes pried open with much difficultly since the first thing I saw was a blinding light.

Then a creepy face smirking down at me, blocked out the light.

I let out an exasperated sigh. "Jeshan."

"The one and only," He said proudly.

I looked around me at the girl's bathroom; there was the broken mirror, the shards on the floor, and finally Jeshan, who had on arm wrapped around me, propping me up.

I raised an eyebrow at him.

He blushed. "You know...your bathroom is much nicer than ours."

"Why are you here? you know you're not supposed to be."

"Well...um..." He rubbed the back of his neck with his free arm.

        "Yes?"

"I heard yelling in here, and it didn't sound pretty. Plus, everyone else had already left, and I knew it was Vopper, so I figured that whatever was going on wasn't going to end well. So, I ran into the bathroom and found Vopper pinning you to the wall and..." His eyes darkened. "you know. I had to basically to throw her out of the bathroom. It took everything I had to not punch her across her stupid face."

I was surprised, I knew we both didn't like Wendy, but I didn't know he hated her as much as I did. I'd never seen him so heated up in his life.

I swallowed still getting used to the amount of oxygen that I was being privileged to have. "Well...thanks," I found myself swallowing multiple times trying to clear my throat. Or make it bigger, it was so sore, and it felt smaller.

Jeshan must have noticed. "You alright there Sil?"

I swallowed again. "Yeah I just-" I was interrupted by my own uncontrollable coughing.

Jeshan looked torn. "I'll get you some water," He paused looking around for a place to lay me other than the un-holy germ-infested bathroom floor.

"It's-fine.....I can...stand," I said quickly trying to ease his concern.

Instead of answering Jeshan simply tightened his grip on me and with his other arm scooped up my legs. He carried me out to the hallway, with me still coughing.

"Dashing through the bathroom, with Sil coughing all the way-"

I put my hand over his mouth before he could finish his ridiculous version of 'Jingle bells'. I couldn't help laughing though. Must have been all the oxygen lacking in my brain, because it wasn't even that funny.

"You know you like it," He smirked down at me.

We exited the bathroom and out into the hallway. Jeshan looked down both ends of the hallway. He appeared to be worried, which was weird  because Jeshan is NEVER worried.

Jeshan walked a little ways down the hallway and set me down against the wall.

He put his hands on his hips. "Alright. They shouldn't be checking this area until last, so you should be good to hang here for a bit. I'm gonna go get you some water or something, and you stay right there,"

"Okay," He started to walk away but I grabbed his leg to detain him. He looked down at me. "Thank you Jeshan."

He smiled. "I do what I can," Then because he had to ruin the moment, he gave a thumbs up and stuck his tongue out.

          Oh lord.

As Jeshan disappeared down the hallway, I fully felt the pain in my head and throat. I closed my eyes, leaned my head against the wall, and just tried to relax, which seemed to work until all the lights went out.

          Crap.

My eyes flew open. I wasn't scared of the dark or anything but being in a long dark creepy hallway alone could make anyone uneasy.

I tried blinking a couple times to test if it was just because my head had been slammed against the wall earlier, but unfortunately or fortunately (I'm not sure which) it was the lights.

As my eyes got adjusted to the lights, I could see rows of lockers in front of me and other little things  but mostly I couldn't see anything.

I scanned the hallway. First looking to my right to see if Jeshan had turned off all the lights as some sort of dumb prank, but I didn't see him laughing his head off. Second, I looked to my left and also saw nothing.

Until something moved in the dark.

         My heart stopped.

Calm down, it's probably just the janitor or something shutting off all the lights. They're probably just locking up.

Before checking the hallway? Came the little realistic voice inside of me.

The figure moved as though it was trudging through peanut butter.

No. No. Not the zombies. I thought.

The figure slowly moved down the hallway. Closer to me.

Then as if right on cue, the light directly above the figure flicked on. Showering the figure in light.

I closed my eyes on instinct, to let my eyes get adjusted to the sudden light. Its probably just Jeshan, maybe he came back another way and is just trying to scare me.

As I adjusted to the light, I opened my eyes.

          Not Jeshan.

          NOT Jeshan.

Don't worry guys.... no zombies in this story... at least not yet...
