Rain let the queen go, and she slumped to the floor, kneeling back the way she was before he lifted her.
The king watched Rain with a smug expression. He was pleased to know that Rain supported him.
Lyre gawked at Rain as he tried to understand what was going on. This wasn't the Rain he knew.
"You see, Eve." The king strode towards her. "I will get my hands on not only the pearls but the kingdom. You are not needed any more." He laughed hysterically as he made a sign of kicking her off with his fingers.
Eve gritted her teeth in anger. She wanted so much to show him what she was capable of, but she restrained herself from doing so. The time wasn't right.
Rain stood beside the king, and watched them, waiting for the right opportunity to strike.
The king strode back to his throne and got a gleaming dagger which was behind it.
