Sarah gulped, her chest rising and falling rapidly. Their faces were so close that her lips trembled involuntarily. She turned her head to the side, avoiding direct eye contact with Noah.
"As for your question, my revenge was still ongoing, but no, it wasn't directed at you anymore. I received new information about Nick's death the night before you left," he explained.
Sarah scoffed, still hurt by his choice of words. "Not targeting me anymore?" she repeated, her voice filled with bitterness.
"No, that's not what I meant." He ran a hand through his hair, visibly frustrated with himself. "I'm sorry," he apologised, didn't want to give excuses and chose to give in.
