Chapter 24_Do all royals know each other?

Evie sat underneath a tree as she sobbed, she buried her face in the nukes of her arms as it rested on her knees.Athena who was passing by with a basket saw her and went to her.

"Your Highness?"She called, sitting beside her and without a word, Evie hugged her and cried on her shoulder, Athena confronted her, patting her on the back.

" It's all good, Princess Evie " She said. Evie pulled away sitting up, wiping her tears.

" No it's not, My... My father, he wants to get me married... To general Samuel. " She said.

"What!, to general Sam, I thought as a princess you are meant to marry a prince?" Athena asked in concern.

"In politics, A prince can only marry a princess, but for the princess, they can be sold for marriage, to anyone. It has affected a lot of lovers, leaving them either heartbroken or depressed."Evie said wiping the trail of tears evident on her face.

Athena's mind went back to what prince Nathan had told her multiple times

The echoes of prince Nathan voice was in her head. She shook her head and pout.

" What a bull-rule,"

"Bull... rule?" Evie asked, raising a brow.

"Yes, it's a bullshit rule everyone deserves to get married for love and not by politics." Athena said again.

"That's how it has been for years, it'll be impossible to change the rule in the land of Alfie." Evie said then turned her gaze to the clear blue sky.

" I wish people can see things the way you do, Athena, "Evie said not carrying her gaze away from the sky.

" Athena, " She called and Athena looked at her.

"Have you ever fallen in love with someone?" She asked and Athena halted, images of Xavier's smiling and loving gaze flashed in her mind.She nodded slightly and Evie eyes widen.

"Really, who was it?" Evie asked, eyes shining in excitement, Athena wondered how her love life would intrigue Evie so much that the tears had instantly dried up and the princess was now on her knees, intently starting at her.

" Xavier, " She said.

"Xavier?" Evie asked blinking twice.

" Prince Xavier of Cranes kingdom "Athena whispered and Evie's eyes widen.

" You mean, Xavier the ill-mannered prince?" She asked.

"Hey, Xavier is as sweet as honey, he's not ill-mannered, at least not anymore." Athena said.

"Okay, pardon me for speaking ill of your boyfriend, but how did he court you, I mean he's the type of person that no one would believe has a girlfriend?" Evie asked.

"You know him?" Athena asked.

" We've met, back then when my Father and King Aaron made their first Alliance, before he could leave to study medicine, he's a childhood friend but I am sure he wouldn't remember me." Evie said.

"Do all royals know each other?"

"Apparently yes, the kings all know each other, King Aaron, my father and king Darius."

"King Darius, I don't know why but I am curious about him." Athena said.

"He is the most powerful king in the land, with their dragons and god-like abilities, they are basically not humans but gods." Evie said.

"Wait, Real fire breathing Dragons?" She asked.

"Yes, real fire breathing dragons, you only see them when they are ready for war against other lands or Kingdoms." Evie said.

'That must be the reason for King Aaron's desperate need for titanium. ' She said inwardly.

"The three kingdoms should just unite, it'll be better for everyone" Athena said.

"Four, there are actually four kingdoms In Alfie land.but the kingdom Vanara has never been heard of, it's almost like they don't exist and there is no history about them"

"Hell, then they must be really peaceful" She said.

"I wouldn't say peaceful, more like invisible."Evie replied, her tone was back to the sad one.

"What is the matter?"

"I want to experience all those things, traveling around the lands and other lands, I want to see and have my very own adventures... I want to fall in love too, but that's not going to happen while am locked up in here."Evie said with a pout.

Athena smiled and adjusted closer to Evie, laying the princess's head on her shoulders as she rested her back on the tree's trunk.

"All those things will come to pass, Nothing is permanent Princess Evie."Athena said as they both gazed into the clear blue sky.
