"I'm late" Bella couldn't look him in the eye when she had said that.

Matt looked at her like she just sprouted a third eye in the middle of her forehead. That was the only time she could look at him before she went back to looking at their feet. She told herself that she'd be patient when she told him, but it was hard not to. She wanted to shout at him to say something, but she couldn't.

She was scared herself. She had waited for her period to come. For an entire week. Yes she liked him and if she let herself she could get a kid if she wanted to, especially Matthew's kid. But right now she didn't want to think about it. She wasn't even twenty yet. She was working odd jobs here and there. Multiple ones. How would that work? She hadn't even healed from the trauma that she had experienced. She couldn't project on her own child.
