Presidential Pardon

Later in the evening, Su Luo was taken to see the President. When she got there, Lu Cao, Lu Shen and the President, Lu Ping were already seated. Though she met Lu Ping a couple of times at various functions, she barely interacted with him.

When the news broke out that the Old Matriarch of the Lu family was killed and that Su Luo was responsible for her death, Lu Ping used the forces within his control to hunt her down. If not for Master Song, Bai Li, Xu Jun and Ye Ming, Su Luo might not have made it out of X Country alive.

"I heard you wanted to see me. You should know that I don't see criminals let alone sit down and have a chat with them but since it's a very important matter, I will listen..." Lu Ping paused for a moment and then he scoffed.

"You want to bargain with me. Fine. I'll let all your associates go in return, you'll have to tell us everything you know about the chemical weapons" Lu Ping continued.

"Things have changed" Su Luo said.

"What do you mean?" Lu Shen asked.

"I want a presidential pardon for both me and my associates" Su Luo answered.

Lu Cao hit his hand on the table and looked at Su Luo furiously

"Ha!!.. you're really audacious. After everything you still have the mouth to ask for a presidential pardon.

Lu Cao turned to look at his nephew and said

"I'd suggest we kill her now. We can find another way to get the chemical weapons from the people who stole them. We have capable men and women who are trained for this. We don't need her. She's worthless."

"Really?... I'd like to meet them."Su Luo said sarcastically.

"I don't think you understand the gravity of the situation. The B-C11678 wasn't the only chemical weapon that was stolen. That was just a cover. For the past eight months, a lot of chemical weapons have been stolen." Su Luo continued.

"If what you're saying is true, then why did the President of B Country tell us that only one container had been stolen?" Lu Cao asked.

"He didn't tell us because he decided that we didn't need to know" Lu Shen answered.

"What do you mean?" Lu Ping asked.

"According to my source in B Country, there has been a series of secret meetings going on between the President and his cabinet. It seems like the President of B Country isn't too happy with the peace treaty that was signed twenty two years ago" Lu Shen explained.

"Su Luo is absolutely right. The B-C11678 was just a cover because it was the most obvious. The President knows that it wouldn't take long for us to know that the B-C11678 was stole so he decided to draw our attention to the matter. With the information I've been receiving, I'd assume that the President is the one behind the other stolen chemical weapons."
