Chapter 3

Kylian found himself surrounded by a comfortable darkness, which he wished for himself to become lost in as he attempted to walk forward in the unknown world. He didn't know why he just wanted to walk in a specific direction. He wanted to journey into the darkness, hoping to find something he did not know he was even longing for. He was looking for someone, but who was he looking for?

A person? A place? A time? A memory? An object? No. Those weren't right. He was looking for something even greater. He could feel it. It was that way! He reached out in the midst of the blank space in front of him only to feel a tugging at his right arm. Was something trying to stop him from getting to what he longed for? Why? Why were they trying to stop him? They had no right to do so!

Kylian jerked his arm away and ran with the longing in his heart as a guide for his journey. That thing! The one he had been searching for what felt like his entire life! It was so close he could feel it as he got closer and closer. He ran as fast as he could until he spotted a little boy in the distance. Was he the one? Was he the key to his power? He had to be, Kylian thought as he ran towards the little boy and grabbed his small hand.

Who was he? The boy stared at Kylian with thundercloud gray eyes before he pulled him along, as jovial as he could be. Who was he? Where was he taking Kylian? He did nothing but wonder as the boy pulled him along to another unknown place. To a dangerous place. He could feel it as he progressed, but his legs wouldn't stop moving and his mind wouldn't stop wondering as he continued to be led by his hand to the unfathomable.

Did the boy mean to kill him? No. It was impossible. Kylian knew the child couldn't kill a fly if he wanted to. He was in too much pain to do so. He could feel it in his eyes as those empty thundercloud irises burned a hole into Kylian's heart. No. It was simply impossible- "Kylian!" he heard a voice he only knew from his memory as he continued to walk. "Kylian, come back!" Aimee? Was that really Aimee's voice?

Kylian let go of the small hand to turn around, expecting to see his little sister, but instead saw nothing. He could've sworn he heard her calling out to him. Where could she have disappeared to so quickly? It didn't make sense. Why was he in the darkness? Why couldn't he see? If only he could see, then he would be able to- "To what?" a female voice? Kylian turned around, confused as to which stranger had crept into his dreams.

Her shortish figure coupled with shoulder length, dark-brown curly hair tied in a low ponytail seemed familiar. Those freckles underneath those glasses seemed familiar. Her ice cold glare which sent shivers down Kylian's spine was familiar. Why? Why had Kylian seen such terrifying eyes before? Why? Why was she getting closer and closer to him? What was she going to do? Why wouldn't his legs move?

Did his body not understand he was going to die if he didn't move? What about that was so difficult to comprehend? Move! Please, just move-

Kylian felt his body leave the floor as he desperately reached for the ground while trying to pry the woman's hand from around his neck. How could someone be so strong? What did she want? Why was she hurting him? He didn't understand. He just wished he could understand!

Kylian squeezed his eyes shut as he felt himself losing consciousness until he heard Aimee's voice again. "I was going to lend you my power," she said, "but it seems you'll be fine until you learn the truth." The truth? What truth? Where was she? Where was his Aimee? Where was his little sister? He couldn't lose her. Not again! Where is she? Aimee!

Kylian felt the hand around his neck squeezing his throat until he couldn't call out anymore. Until he woke up.

*****

Kylian jumped up as the violent nightmare ended and looked around, obviously panicked. Where was he? What was going on? He looked around the dark, cold dungeon, trying to remember why he was in such a place. "What's wrong, Kylian?" William! He turned around to see his best friend sitting underneath the only window in their cell. "You okay?" he asked again, worryingly, but Kylian was fine.

He just had a bad dream. That was all. William looked at him questioningly before simply staring into Kylian's eyes with his own jungle green. Oh no! He always tried to read his mind at the worst times. Don't think. Don't think. Don't think! "Letting me read your mind once won't kill you, you know." It just might have. The two boys laughed at each other as they settled down underneath the window of their tower.

"Ten days, huh." William commented as they positioned themselves next to each other as a way to fight the cold night breeze.

It had been ten days since Richard imprisoned them in the tower. Ten days since they unknowingly saved Felix and Jason, and they repaid them by leading them into a trap. Ten days since they got all their confidence knocked out of them the second Julian found out they tried to steal Kiara.

"It's been ten days since those beasts invaded our planet, too," William reminded him, "You can't forget that." Kylian looked up and out the window, wondering if the dragons were really beasts. What was he thinking? Of course they were beasts! What else could they possibly-

A siren-like shriek filled the sky as William and Kylian held their ears as the blue dragon sounded its alarm. Someone was hurting it. Kylian knew it. But how?

Wasn't it a good thing that someone was hurting the beast? So why? Why did Kylian's heart break when he heard the siren-like cry? Why did the dragon get so close to him and connect so deeply with his heart? Why did it protect someone like him? He couldn't even save Aimeé, so he tried to save Halley, but he lost everyone too. Why didn't it just let someone like him die? What use was it keeping a disappointment like him around?

"Geez," William sneered, "What could that Mustollini be doing to such a huge beast for it to scream like that?" He noticed its sadness, too? "Sadness? I didn't sense anything like that, but aside from when they arrived, I haven't heard them roar unless they had been attacked. You think it's sad?" Yeah, he did. For some reason, the dragon sounded so very sad to Kylian. "Honestly, how low can Mustollini get? Hurting a dragon like that."

Kylian laughed a bit as he thought of what he could've been doing to hurt a dragon of all things. There was no way he could deal with a dragon the same way he dealt with humans-

The memory of Moore walking into the late Queen Mother's office flashed back into Kylian's head as he spoke. It was still fresh in his mind. He could still hear the dripping of the blood. He could still smell the scene as if she was right in front of him. He could still see her-

William tumbled backwards before crouching down with his hands behind his head and his head between his knees. Oh no! He had read Kylian's mind-

"What are we going to do, Ky?" he said as his entire body shook, "We're going to die. He's going to kill us and send our heads to our families-" William! "Then he's going to find them, and kill them too-" William! "After that he's going to kill everyone when they return-" William-

"Don't say it's not true if you fear the same, Ky!" William screamed, and there was nothing Kylian could've said to rebuke him. He was terrified of what was to come. What Richard Mustollini would do to them if he didn't kill them. He had no idea, and it scared-

No. He had no time to be scared. "What?" William asked as he glanced at him with his hands still on his head. Who would comfort William if Kylian was scared?

"What?" William asked as his hands lowered from his head and he stared at Kylian in disbelief. "You're really not scared?" Not in the slightest. Kylian believed in his power and his Magi and in William. He was confident they would find a way out, but breaking out would be difficult if William didn't get some sleep soon. "Kylian-" No buts. Little boys like him needed a full night's rest.

William laughed a bit at Kylian's comment before agreeing and falling asleep on his shoulder.

"Don't close your eyes after summoning me, Kylian." Kylian's eyes opened as he stared at his Magi sitting directly in front of him. Poseidon looked simply angelic as the moon dressed him in an immaculate shade of the night. "Quite the poet, I see." He was sorry. Kylian was sorry he didn't heed any of Poseidon's warnings and fell for Michael's trap. The Magi didn't budge at Kylian's apology, but he truly was sorry for how he had hurt him.

"Do you know what it's like to have your entire being forced into submission by an entity stronger than you can imagine?" the Magi asked painfully, and no. Kylian had no idea, and couldn't even fathom how a feeling like-

Another siren roar filled the air and sky above as Kylian rushed to cover William's ears from the piercing sound. He found himself getting lost in his Magi's lonely eyes as they stared longingly at the starry sky.

Why did he look so sad? "Yeah," he mumbled, "You have no idea how painful it is." Kylian felt his own heart chip at the sight of the Magi, whom he trusted his soul with. How could he have hurt him? How could he have forced so much pain onto him? Kylian didn't deserve him, nor William, or Louis, or Halley, or Brandon, or Rebecca, or Britney, or Kiara, and definitely not Aimeé. He couldn't even keep her safe.

"Don't be so hard on yourself." his Magi said as he placed his hand on Kylian's shoulder, only for it to fall through. He retracted his hand and stared at it as he continued, saying, "None of your friends' Magis have properly returned to Magiterra, so you can relax and concentrate on keeping him safe from that man." Richard Mustollini. How could he not fear someone like him? "The Monkey King is strong." Huh? "But you are stronger, Kylian."

Stronger? How could he ever be stronger than him? "I did not choose you as my magician for your overflowing arrogance, Kylian, but for your heart." His heart? "A heart like yours is filled with so much love. It makes it difficult for you to forgive, doesn't it." No- "Lies! Right this minute, you want to kill Axel for trying to kill all of you." No! It wasn't true- "Don't deny your power, young magician. Let it flow into your heart and take its seat beside your vengeance."

Kylian sent his Magi away, and gasped for air in the darkness. He swore to himself he would never kill a single person. He would never use his power for evil. He would never stop trying to protect his friends and family. Kylian swore to never give into the power.

*****

Kylian jumped awake from his same nightmare to feel the sun's morning rays warming his skin as William quietly slept on his shoulder. He looked around the dungeon, confirming he hadn't entered another nightmare. No, he was awake.

He brought his knees to his head as he clasped his hands behind his head.

He did it again. He had the same dream and he couldn't stop himself from searching. He couldn't stop himself from being pulled along by the little boy and he couldn't see Aimeé. No matter how much he tried to break free, the woman's ironclad grip refused to release his neck. He could never get a glimpse of his little sister's face no matter how hard he tried.

"Dreams are depictions of a person's desires, memories, and fears." He remembered Brandon telling him something along those lines in school a few months back. Was him constantly losing to the woman a sign of a fear he was unaware of? What could she represent? Was Kylian scared of the general female population? Doubt it. The Class X? Why? He saw her dead body in front of him. Next to Halley and Britney.

Was he- Step. Step. actually- Step. Step. afraid of- Step. Creak~ Kylian listened carefully as someone entered the tower floor. One set of shoes? He could've sworn he heard more as they were walking up the stairs. Were the others hiding? "How long are you going to pretend to be asleep?" Felix asked Kylian. Intimidated by his power, Kylian immediately opened his eyes and landed them on the disgusting trash himself.

"Don't look at me like that. You're going to hurt my feelings." Kylian cared for his feelings as much as Felix cared for their well-being. "It really is difficult being so popular." the human twinkie sighed. "Oh well. Wake him up too." William? What did he want with him? "I want him to also see my surprise. Is that so wrong?" Kylian remained on high alert as his eyes glowed. He tried to figure out what he would do to William once he was awake, but he couldn't figure it out.

Regardless, Kylian swore he would never wake William up- Thunk! Thunk? Kylian and Felix were both confused as to the sound of a coconut covered in ham hitting the floor until they heard William say, "Owww!" while rubbing his head.

So much for that. "Now that everyone's awake," What was he planning? "Bring them in." Them? Did he mean to kill them with multiple weapons … Louis? Baptiste?

"Baptiste!" William yelled as he ran towards the metal bars. Louis! He was okay. Thank goodness, but something didn't feel right about this. Why was he letting them meet? Did he think he could overpower all three of them at once? Wait, why was Louis so angry? "Thomas, you bastard!" he suddenly yelled, startling Kylian, Baptiste, and William. Louis turned to face the doorway as his father's bodyguard walked into the room.

There was no way … Kylian simply couldn't believe it. How could he betray the man he's worked with for years? "That's what I want to know." the hot headed magician snapped at the traitor. Thomas, however, was calm and collected as he walked closer and closer to Kylian's bars. What did he plan to do? Kylian's mind raced with different defense plans, but all of them fell flat because of one factor, and one factor alone: Felix's power.

He knew what he was capable of, but he regretted not saying it aloud as Louis swung a fist full of fire at Thomas's face. Kylian, worried, used the moment Felix got distracted to freeze him, but he soon realised he couldn't feel his own body. When did he use his magic? Kylian looked up to see Felix's eyes glowing a regal blue as he smiled at him and William, who was staring at Louis.

Kylian turned his head to see Louis's fist in Thomas's hand, and he felt his face turn pale as he saw the clenched hand still on fire. "I did not betray anyone. We are not the traitors." he spoke quietly before yanking Louis by the fist and kneeing him in the abdomen. He then proceeded to open up the bars and let Kylian and William out of their cell.

Kylian rushed over to Louis, and thankfully, he hadn't coughed up any blood. Always a good sign.

"Now that you're out," Felix said as he eyed Kylian helping Louis, and William as he stood in front of his little brother, "Some very important people would like to meet you."

Which one of Richard Mustollini's henchmen would they be meeting this time?

*****

What was going on?

Kylian's brain simply couldn't comprehend the sight of his parents and Louis's father standing in front of them. In the palace courtyard where Kylian had spent so much time with the Northern royal family. Below the green trees they used to spend their days under, Kylian watched his parents walk in beside Richard Mustollini and Aaron Moore. He couldn't jump to conclusions just yet, though.

Maybe they were also being held captive by Richard Mustollini and his Ex-Saviours. "Why aren't their hands bound like yours then?" Poseidon asked from beside Kylian. Perhaps they were using magic to bind them? "At the sides of their bodies?" Maybe- "Maybe nothing, Kylian! Admit it. Your own parents betrayed the royal family for power." That's not true! He didn't know if it was true, so he had no right to assume they sold out.

"Ask them, then." Poseidon insisted, "Ask them why they betrayed the people they swore to serve." Why? Kylian couldn't understand why his parents would betray the Meelia family like this. Why did they do it? "I can ask the same." Louis declared as he glared at his own father. Kylian stayed close to Louis as they carefully positioned Baptiste next to the red-haired magician and his older brother. If anything were to happen, they would protect him.

Yes. This was Kylian's main concern and the only thing keeping his mind from admitting the truth. "Say something!" Louis yelled, ""Explain why you betrayed the Kings and Empress, father!"

Mr. Johanssenn remained silent until a beast-like roar broke the quiet. It didn't sound like the blue dragon. Was it the red? It had to be since there were only two dragons on Wisteria. At least, that's what Kylian had heard from his cell.

Two distinct roars.

"My, my," Richard Mustollini commented at the roar's end, "You can still hear them an ocean away. What impressive specimens they are! Don't you agree, little Baptiste?" The three boys backed up, while getting closer to the prince as Louis threatened, "Speak to him again and I will rip your tongue out!" "Now," Richard Mustollini refuted, "Is that anyway to speak to a king?"

A what? "Don't look so surprised." Aaron Moore said, maniacally, "It's called a coup d'etat. Didn't you learn that in school?" Kylian had already learned about them way before he entered the Academy, but Richard Mustollini referring to himself as a king could only mean, "You took the entire Northern kingdom?"

William asked as he went pale in disbelief and fear, but there simply was no way. There was no way they drove the forces in the northern part of the Eastern empire to the south.

"You're right there," Richard Mustollini added, "The Eastern empire is run by a rather stubborn monarch, but even her forces will fall at the sight of the dragons." Kylian knew the dragons were capable of doing such a thing, but why would they listen to humans? What was Richard Mustollini planning on doing to them?

A sly smile crept across his face as Richard Mustollini reached out his hands to the three boys and said, "Join us, and be on the right side of history." Absolutely not! "There's no way in abyssus I'll join you!" Louis declared as William agreed with him. "Why should I join the man who destroyed Olympia and killed all those people?" Not to mention, Michaelangelo almost killed Louis a few days ago.

"It won't be that big of a change, Lou." What? What was Mr. Johanssenn talking about? What wouldn't be much of a difference? "Don't think I won't kill you just because you're my father." Louis angrily snapped back with a glare, but his father continued on.

"The kings and empress have destroyed towns and killed innocent people too. Why do you remain loyal to them after knowing all of this?"

What? "You've seen the records, Louis," Mr. Johanssenn continued, "You know what they've done, so why are you still protecting the next generation of murderers?" Murderers? What was he talking about? His loyalty was based on lies he couldn't back up with real evidence, and he had the nerve to say these things? He was clearly trying to get under Louis's skin, and thankfully it didn't look like it was working.

"You want evidence?" Aaron Moore asked, "Before I give you evidence, let me ask you three: what did Winona tell you happened to Emilia Scheinder?" Huh? What did the Late Queen Mother have to do with all of this? "Emilia Scheinder was killed by Saviours a few days before a press conference she scheduled. She planned to reveal Chadwick to be the head of the Saviours, but he silenced her before she got the chance."

"Did she tell you the name of the man who killed her?" Aaron Moore asked them quietly. "No." Louis answered curtly before Aaron Moore continued, "Andreas Moore. My little brother." What? "Winona lied to you. All of you." What? How could they possibly believe a single word he said? "It's true," Mr. Johanssenn added, but they refused to believe anything they said without any proof. As far as they knew, they were just trying to lie to them.

"How about this for proof?" father said as he held two pieces of paper in front of their faces. What was that? "A birth certificate and … an assassination commission." William said gravely, followed by mother commenting sarcastically, "I'm glad you recognize one, Your Highness." What was going on? Why were mother and father being like this? What did a birth certificate and an assissination commission have to do with the late Queen Mother lying?

She said Louis's mother was assassinated! "And who do you think asked my little brother to kill Emilia?" Aaron Moore yelled, "It was no one other than the devil himself. Do you not get it? Emilia was killed along with our child because she was going to expose what King Winston had done to his own daughter!" What? That couldn't be true, but no matter how long Kylian stared at the paper, the more the ink seemed to stain his eyes.

There was no denying it. King Winston's signature was on the commission. "What did Emilia find out to make the king kill her?" William asked defensively, shocking Aaron Moore. He sighed before saying with a painful smile, "Two months after Emilia and I moved in together, she came home looking distressed as she could be, but she refused to tell me anything. I didn't get to know the truth until I was beating it out of my own little brother."

"Do you get it?" Moore asked them, "The mother of my child was killed because the king knowingly swept a crime under his own carpet, and Winona demonized her to keep this secret away from the public." Kylian wanted to know what the crime was, but he quickly wished he was never curious as Aaron Moore told him the truth

Kylian felt sick to his stomach as he crouched down, holding his abdomen. It was all his fault. All of it. If he had been brave enough to speak that day, Louis wouldn't have lost his mother.

It was all his fault! "No it's not." Kylian looked up to face Aaron Moore, and he was left petrified in guilt as he watched the tears fall out of his eyes as he retained a smile on his face. "I already killed the man who killed my family, but I'm yet to kill the people behind all of this." "As am I," father cut in as he clenched his fist in a rage. Kylian was so sorry. He wanted to tell someone, but he just- "Not that, Ky." Huh? "That's not why I want to kill the empress."

What? "Ky," mother started, "You know how Aimeé had a curable disease, right?" What did that have to do with anything? "We placed her in the care of Doria Sullivan under the pretense she could save her. After all, that is what the empress ensured us. She promised us Doria could save her, but she just got worse with every passing day. A month before she died, your father and I went along with her to her appointment, remember?"

Of course he remembered. He spent the day with William, Louis and Kiara in that very same palace. They trusted the royal families with their lives, so why? "She was poisoning her."

… What? What did father just say?

"I stole a sample of the medicine that heathen was giving our baby, and Chadwick Myra confirmed it to be poison."

What?

"We went to the empress to seek legal action since Doria was under her supervision, and do you know what she did?"

No.

"Do you know what the empress said when we told her our daughter was being poisoned?"

No!

"She told us to wait, Kylian." Shut up! "She told us to wait until Raphael cleared the poison."

Stop!

"By the time he confirmed it, Aimeé was already gone."

Please, stop!

"She didn't even arrest her."

Make it stop! Make it stop!

"She played the death of our Aimee as a 'mistake' and didn't bother to investigate-"

The siren roar pierced the sky as Kylian felt himself slip into a world unknown to his senses. He couldn't see the courtyard anymore. It seemed like he was under the sea, but he couldn't figure out why until he heard a voice.

"Why?" Aimeé! Kylian turned around to see the blue dragon standing above him, gazing into his eyes with oceans in its own. "Why do you protect those who hurt you?" Aimeé's voice was coming from the dragon?

"They've used you, and hurt those you love. Why do you serve such cruel, weak masters?"

They weren't weak. They were stronger than he, and could destroy him anytime they pleased. The same way they killed Emilia Schneider. In the same way they killed her, they could even go for his family and friends next. He didn't have the power to protect those he loved!

"So you protect those who hurt and scorn you?"

What other choice did he have?

"I will give you the power to protect your heart and soul, but you must promise to reunite me with my son."

Its son? Did the dragon mean Poseidon? "You called-" Perfect timing. Kylian watched as the ocean dragon slowly turned into a goddess he had only known in books as it embraced Poseidon. The scene warmed Kylian's heart as he felt magic flowing into his veins as fast as it could. "What is your name this time?" Poseidon asked.

The dragon's name? "My name is Aimeé." she replied as a light flooded Kylian's eyes until he could see the courtyard once more. He wondered what had happened as he observed the broken ground and flooded hallways all around. What had happened? He wondered as he ran to Louis and William, who were lying on the ground a few paces away. "Good. You're back." William said as he and Kylian helped Louis to his feet.

Back? What did he mean back? William's explanation, however, was cut short by Richard walking up to them and asking them once more, "Will you join me?" "Of course not!" William declared before worryingly questioning Kylian and Louis's silence ... King Winston and his family had ostracized Kiara all her life for her blessing, and the Empress of the East practically killed Aimeé and swept her death under the carpet.

"Not to mention how that bastard, Winston, had my own mother killed because she was going to tell the world just what kind of heartless beast he is." William backed away from his two best friends, horrified by their answers, but was it really bad to join Richard Mustollini? He could help them get revenge on the people who had hurt Kylian all his life. With them gone, he could protect everyone.

William launched himself at Kylian and landed a punch on his face as he screamed, "You traitors!" Traitors? How were they the traitors? Weren't the monarchs who abuse their power the traitors? A brat like William could never understand what it was like to lose his younger sibling, whose life you swore to protect. He could never understand the pain of watching Baptiste die before his own eyes.

William tried to lunge at Kylian again, but Thomas and Jason held him firmly on the floor before Louis suddenly asked, "Where's Baptiste?" Everyone suddenly went into panic mode as they all realized the 4 year old was nowhere to be found. William called out his little brother, but there was no answer. "This is perfect," Richard Mustollini declared, "Now you can prove your loyalty to me, Louis Johanssenn."

Huh? "Louis, Felix, and Starlight, you three go find the little boy. He couldn't have gotten far in this mess." Kylian watched Louis leave with the blond haired man and a little boy towards the palace as William continued to curse him. It didn't matter to Kylian. William would come to understand eventually, so there was no need to fret. There was no need to be so on edge, he thought as the second roar filled the sky, but it somehow seemed louder than usual.

"Oh dear," Richard Mustollini said anticlimactically, "It seems the fire dragon followed his brother here." What? Why was he being so calm about a fire dragon getting closer and closer to them? "Because you will freeze it." Freeze it? Did Kylian look like Jack Frost to this man? "Don't worry. He's not that scary." Not that scary? It's a dragon-

The fiery roar grew louder and louder as the temperature steadily rose.

Kylian soon found himself standing below the dragon, but for a strange reason, he wasn't scared. He didn't tremble one bit as his arm instinctively rose to block the dragon's head, which it jutted towards him.

Why wasn't he scared? "Because I am here with you." Kylian closed his eyes at the sound of his little sister's voice, and he opened them, the fire dragon was no more than an ice statue just outside the palace.

Kylian stared at his hand, knowing he had gained monumental power before turning to William to tell him about it, out of habit.

It hurt. A part of him hurt as he watched his little brother turn his gaze away from him as his eyes burned with hatred and sadness. No. He did not want to hate him. That was why he turned his head away from Kylian's eyes. If he didn't want to hate him, there surely was room to convince him-

Boom! Before he knew it, Kylian was laying on the ground along with everyone else as his eyes searched for a source to the loud, sudden earthquake. His eyes searched and searched until they landed on Julian's long, blonde, curly hair being held in a small ponytail on the right side of his shoulder, and below him was ... Baptiste!

How? Why did he have him? Damn it. Kylian needed to get up and save him, but he couldn't move a muscle.

"I thought it over," the Light Creator's magician suddenly said, "I don't need to kill all of you to quench my anger. I can just kill this little boy here and make you all fear me."

What? Kylian tried with all his might to get up as Baptiste struggled to break free of the creator's magician's grasp. He needed to help him- William ran past Kylian, towards the two of them as Kylian yelled for him to stop, but he couldn't hear anything.

He needed to get up and stop him before he got himself killed. "Baptiste!" he screamed as Julian placed his hand on the little boy's back. The little prince squirmed as his brother got closer and closer, but nothing could stop Julian's hand from going through the boy's body, splattering his blood on William's face.

What had he done? Julian, however, simply smiled as he threw Baptiste's lifeless body into his older brother's arms.

What had he done? William remained still as he stared at his little brother in his arms.

"H-hey. Bap. You gotta wake up." he said to him as his voice broke and shook, "You gotta get up now, buddy. We're supposed to play together today, remember? I promised you I would. B-but I can't play with you if you're not up .... C-c-come on. This joke has gone far enough .... Wake up, Baptiste. Baptiste! Wake up! Wake up now!"

No matter how he screamed and shook him, Baptiste didn't wake up as Julian disappeared, taking his spell with him, and allowing everyone else to move again. Kylian tried to run over to William as he sat on the floor with his brother in his arms, but soon no one could get close as the ground split up all around the two brothers. Kylian couldn't do anything but watch as William tore up the ground and sent earthquake after earthquake throughout the entire courtyard.

He could only watch in horror as Thomas's and Jason's eyes glowed as they tried to pin the monster William had become down, but deep down inside, Kylian knew he was weak. Kylian knew how weak William was as two more of Richard's men jumped in to help subdue William, as his eyes glowed their fiercest jungle green, and failed. He found himself walking closer to him as every other sound in the world died out.

William was weak. That was why Kylian had to protect him, he thought as he froze every part of William's body, with the exception of his left arm. William would be safe with Kylian, he thought as another man in a lab coat and glasses injected something into William's arm, knocking him unconscious.

Now William knew the same pain, he was closer to becoming like Kylian, he said to himself as Kylian picked up William and walked with him into the palace. He didn't seem to care for Louis as he ran past the two of them, to a corpse.

Why did he care about it now? Kylian wondered why Louis cared anymore. Baptiste had already served his purpose. William was already like Kylian.
