Chapter 9: The Squirrel Who Found the Temple

Inside the Forest, Noel was eagerly waiting for strong monsters to fight. Meanwhile, Flare looked around and watched Charu and Risu.

Charu was nervous. His heart was full of worries about strong monsters because Risu felt something strange in the forest.

However, they continued to walk into the depths of the forest. There seemed to be no sign of monsters at all.

But they found a temple-shaped building.

"Ah! I feel it inside that building!"

Risu suddenly pointed towards the temple building.

Flare and Noel then got ready. They waited for the monsters to arrive.

"Inside that building is where Keris is."

Hearing Flare's words, Charu couldn't feel happy. Charu wanted to take the Keris inside the temple immediately. However, Charu refrained because a strong monster might be inside the temple.

"Come on, let's go inside."

Without waiting for Flare and the others, Noel alone entered the temple.

Flare didn't have time to stop Noel. Noel, hungry for a fight, wouldn't be easily stopped. So, Flare and the others followed Noel.

When they entered the temple, it was so dark that there was no lighting. They walked carefully through the temple building.

Flare, a half-dark elf, had eyesight in the dark. Her blue eyes shone to reveal that many strange relief panels seemed full of meaning on the temple walls.

Charu and Risu held Flare's clothes tightly. They were afraid of the dark. Both their hands were shaking.

The sensitive Flare slowed her walk to avoid leaving Charu and Risu behind.

Compared to Noel, she walked on unafraid of anything.

At that moment, a giant creature appeared and slammed into Noel.

Noel, who did not expect the sudden attack, was knocked down and hit the temple wall.

"Why are there trolls here?!"

Flare reflexively shot an arrow. Although, Flare's head was wondering about the appearance of a giant creature.

Unfortunately, the Troll had an extreme body resistance. Flare's arrow did not penetrate the Troll's body.

"Damn! Noel we have to get out of this cramped space!"

The narrow space inside the temple restricted movement. Plus the Troll's large body would be complicated to attack.

Noel was speechless. Noel then stood up and swung the sledgehammer against the Troll's attack with all her strength.

"Wait, Noel!"

Flare wanted to stop Noel. However, Noel didn't care.

Noel's big hammer slammed the Troll into the temple wall, causing the temple to collapse.

Flare hurriedly picked Charu and Risu on her lap and led them out of the temple, leaving Noel and the Troll behind.
