Chapter 4: The Squirrel Who Seeks the Keris

The next day, Charu and Risu went to the Adventurer's Guild, where adventurers look for work.

Went there because Charu thought the adventurers must know about heirloom weapons in the Adventurer's Guild.

However, Charu who was not an adventurer, needed clarification ong what to do.

"Hey, do you need help?"

A half-dark elf came up to Charu and Risu. Seeing her confusion, she tried to help.

"Who are you?!"

Charu was wary of the half-dark elf. It was said that adventurers were very rude and cunning.

"Calm down. I won't mess with you guys. I'm Shiranui Flare. So, do you need help?"

She was smiling cheerfully at Charu and Risu. Flare genuinely wanted to help.

"I'm Charu and this is Risu. We're here to ask about heirloom weapons."

Charu introduced herself and Risu. She felt no danger in Flare, though she was suspicious of Flare's first sentence.

"Heirloom weapon? What kind is it? Swords? An arrow? Or a spear?"

"A type of dagger called a Keris."

Flare was silent. She was lost in her memories of finding out about the Keris.

"If I'm not mistaken, that dagger has no special powers. However, where the dagger is located is difficult because there are many monsters. What are you looking for that dagger for?"

Flare recalled what people had said. Heirloom weapons had special powers that could give the user power.

In ancient times, there was someone who used a Dagger. However, that person was not very strong at all. So, the Keris did not have any special powers.

"W-we're looking for it because we have other needs."

Charu unconsciously played with her long black hair and looked at Risu with a stiff smile.

"Oh? Well, that's okay. If you want it, I can guide you to find the dagger as long as there is a fee."

Charu was pleased. Then, she took out a pouch and gave it to Flare.

"Uwah! That's too much. I'll take two, Miss."

Flare took two gold coins from Charu's pouch and gave Charu back a bag of gold.

Charu felt embarrassed. As far as she knew, hiring an adventurer cost much money. Twoo gold coins were enough.

Two gold coins were a small price for Charu compared to Flare who could fulfill his needs for six months.

"Well, Young Miss, when do we leave? Now or tomorrow?"

Flare changed her call to Charu. Flare was sure Charu was no ordinary person. So, she called Charu with honor.

"The sooner, the better."

Charu chose to hurry because he was still wary of Flare. Charu did not feel any danger in Flare. However, adventurers were not to be trusted.

"Then, we're leaving now. We'll go to Boro."

As an adventurer, Flare was ready at any time. Now she began to leave with Charu and Risu to find Keris.
