The people had soon begun to greet them warmly, but it was never in an exaggerated way. It was a simple bow and smile, some of them greeting the newcomers in English while some in Mandarin.
Even the dogs barked happily to them, causing a bit of discomfort for Wolfe Fang who was once cynophobic.
Their dog Little John had helped improve his condition, but he was only ever used to that particular dog. These ones, though friendly, were unfamiliar and… 'smile too widely', he thought.
There was something about their wide mouths revealing their lolling tongues that unnerves him more. How they can look so innocent but could tear off flesh with their sharp canine teeth.
The pendant on their necks looked like tiny humans made of straw, reminding him of voodoo dolls.
Soon, a certain group had greeted them along with the guard that brought them in.
"Hello. You all seem new. Would you like to have some tea first?"
