"But that still wouldn't explain the fact that he refused to make an oath with other witches but chose that Ava instead."
"I believe this is Babaylan's scheme, your majesty."

"The news that we received about The Sangray family must be accurate. It all made sense now. Babaylan was the one who set up Ava inside the Mourning Pits. It would be logical to think that she was the one responsible for hiding Old Man Sangray and his chaperon."
The King squinted. "Are you telling me that this is all Babaylan's scheme?"
"It should be. It made the most sense. I believe Babaylan sent her here to cause some chaos and stop the coronation. That woman… wanted Matthew to become the next King."
