Amazing

Gasps echoed in the room followed by stiffness as everyone held their breaths, it dawned on Mrs. Derek that the young lady wasn't at fault but it was this man who had broken her son's arm.

The video finished playing, and Wang brought out another piece of evidence, wanting to prove that it was all sincere. It was a recording, of Connor's voice, he was crying and pleading.

"Please... Please... I promise I didn't do anything to her, just let me go" He begged. Right in the ward where he was laid on his bed, he was dealt with by Leif's men. whereas the doctor was being confined by one of his men also, told to not make any move or else he would lose not only his life but his family's as well.

In the ward, they dealt mercilessly with him. Using a molten iron to press over the remnant of his arm, was extremely excruciating, water clouded his eyes and fell down his cheeks as he continued screaming and begging them to have mercy. He didn't know these people and all they were doing right now was hurting and interrogating him about what he did to that Maisie of a girl!

"He isn't going to respond, Boss" The man withdrew from the young man who was soaked in his tears. His ears, nose, and eyes had reddened and he was breathing heavily. The men parted way for Leif to see the idiot who continued to remain obstinate.

The man was sitting on the couch while facing Connor's bed, he crossed the left leg over the right one and his arm folded across his chest. His head tilted back in a relaxed manner and an unwavering expression was written over his face. "Is that so?" His velvet voice rolled out of his lips. His lips suddenly curled in a sly smirk and he sighed, he dropped his arm and dropped his left foot, such that it was equal to his other feet, and gradually he stood up.

Adjusting his expensive suit, he walked toward Connor who was cringing on the bed, his eyes widened at the realization that it was the same man he encountered when he attempted to hurt Maisie that night.

Leif turned his direction, where he grabbed hold of the molten iron, and dipped it in fire while turning the sharp edge like someone who was roasting meat on a skewer.

Connor on the other hand gulped hard, the man hadn't faced him yet he could feel life drifting out of him gradually, "It was you that night right?"

"Yes it was" Leif didn't deny, his answer came out abrupt like he was expecting the boy to ask. Without letting the young one say anything again, he turned to meet his eyes, "I don't have all the time to waste here. Tell me, you attempted rape that night, didn't you?"

Connor gulped again, he looked around, his eyes taking in the hard look on everyone's faces in the room. "You were there, why do you need to ask?"

"Believe it or not, I'll ask for your mouth to be opened and you'll feed on this hot substance right here" His eyes hardened and he declared in a chilling voice that made Connor shiver. He knew that this man was joking and he shouldn't dare play with fire.

He parted his lips to speak. Everything that happened that night without leaving any detail. Wang in the background was recording this information.

When Connor had finished answering the questions that were thrown at him, Leif made his way out of the ward at once, asking the doctor to proceed with the surgery.

"It's obvious that you scared him, he was so scared he admitted to the things he did not do!" Mrs Derek refuted at once. She pointed an accusing finger at Leif, for a moment forgetting who he was because anger had overwhelmed her. She just wanted justice for her son, and she would do nothing but get that justice, even if it meant doing it illegally. Not only her son should suffer like this, but everyone that night must feel pain too!

"Did he?" His eyebrow shot up in question, the woman went silent because she couldn't handle the glare that was sent to her by him. As if she was suddenly not in existence anymore, he looked at Collins.

"Wanting to punish an innocent student, you sure have some nerve Collins, am I wrong?"

The man shook his head quickly.

"Collins is a bad guy, not good for this school and you shall have him removed at once, lest he goes around attempting to ruin other's life. And your dear Maisie should be let off. For being such a good student with an excellent spirit of endurance, I'll be sponsoring her till she graduates from school. On no account must she be punished by you or anyone, you shall be her guardian here, understood?" He inquired.

The man nodded in response.

"How could you! Why will Connor be expelled!?"Mr Derek asked with a frown. Not believing that his son would be sent out of school just for that accident

"Does your ear fail to work?" He questioned sharply.

In anger, Mrs Derek shouted. "This is unfair! Only my son gets to be punished hard while she is let off, tell me if she wasn't such a whore why would she be out late that night? Connor wouldn't have gotten into trouble, likewise, I demand that she gets punished too, that way, she would mend her ways and stop whoring around. This stupid vixen!" She cursed while looking at the girl.

He looked astounded that this woman dared to curse the one whom he was supporting right in his presence. He ordered her to apologize to the girl who already had water in her eyes. Mrs. Derek remained stubborn and Leif was left with no choice but to force her to apologize, then, she was taken along with her husband by Leif's men.

Since the matter had been resolved, Leif walked out of the office. Collins also stood up from the ground, he wiped his forehead. "Today is such a hectic day" He muttered. His eyes fell on Maisie who was standing in his office, "Everything is alright now, you can leave. Also, I think you have something to say to him, he doesn't worry when it comes to other people"

"I understand" Maisie nodded, and she ran out of his office immediately.

Looking over the window rail, she saw Leif on the second floor walking away and she started running to meet him.

Her footsteps screeched to a halt when she got to where he was, she noticed that he stopped walking and turned to look at her with a raised brow. "You didn't break your promise" She smiled at him.

"Hmm," His response was short. "Don't take any of her words to heart, you are amazing just the way you are" He said, and her eyes went wide.

Maisie felt her heart thumping in her chest. What was that? This wasn't the first time she would be hearing a compliment but it affected her this time around, 'Amazing, amazing' Such a lovely word to use. Regaining her composure, she said, "Thank you, sir Leif, I'll always be indebted to you" She bowed her head.

"Have a nice day" He said, and then turned around to leave. While Maisie watched his back.
