A mother's fury

In one of the wards of the hospital, wails dominated the entire room as light cast over Connor on the bed with a broken arm that was barely attached back to his body. His mother was standing beside him and was holding his other hand in between her hands as they both shed tears non-stop.

Connor cried out loud, "Mother it hurts..." He wailed in agony.

The red-headed woman nodded in approval because she knew he would feel that way, "I know son" she caressed his wet cheeks with a sigh. "Don't worry, you'll undergo surgery and hopefully, it'll become intact once again" She consoled him.

Connor replied to her, "I'm scared mother, I'm scared, What if it fails? Will I never be able to use my hand again?" He shed more tears.

"Be positive son!" His father who was at the side yelled out. He also was stupefied to have found his son online with a torn arm that was being carried away by an ambulance.

He swore to make whoever did it to pay with their dear life for having his son undergo such pain like this.

"Avenge for me, mother, father. That girl must not go scot-free like this, she is responsible for it, along with her man! They both should pay" He shrieked loudly, feeling the pain shot through his body, he tried to maintain his composure.

"I definitely will" His mother wiped her tears. "Maisie Tuffin? Isn't that right?"

"Yes Mother, please deal with her"

She carefully placed her son's hand by his side before striding along the room, she grabbed hold of her fancy bag and said, "She'll certainly have the same fate as you, if not more!" She said determinedly.

Dragging her husband by the collar, they both marched out of the hospital while leaving Connor behind in agony. At the back of his mind, he was at least happy that he wouldn't be the only one disabled. Maisie would join him!

Connor's mother drove on the highway like a mad woman and in no time she pulled over in front of the school's large gate. She alighted along with her husband and they walked to the main gate.

The security man didn't bother to question them because they were popular and it wasn't advisable to mess with them, they granted them access to the school compound.

Getting to the principal's office, Connor's mother barged in without any warning.

The principal, Collins was on a phone call when the noise caused a disruption. "I'll speak to you later, dear. Have a nice day" He told his wife over the phone before cutting the call.

Turning to the imbecile who had barged into his office, forgetting the etiquette, he smiled at the raging woman whose nose was flaring in extreme anger, "Please have your seat Mr and Mrs. Derek" He addressed them politely.

"How may I help you?"

Mrs Derek wasted no time in expressing her grievances to the principal who had no idea of what students he was building. "Get this stupid Maisie girl right here! She must pay for what she has done to my son"

The man tried to calm her down by asking, "Hold on, what exactly is happening?"

"Haven't you heard about what happened to Connor?" Mr Derek was the one who inquired sharply, "I'll be shutting this school down if you don't bring me Maisie. That stupid witch must be expelled from this school. Connor, my dear Connor's arm was ripped out of their joints, just take a look" He showed Principal Collins the picture of his disabled son.

The man removed his eyeglasses as if he was going to see any better. "Holy shit" He cursed inwardly at the gory sight of their son.

The man breathed inwardly, "How are you certain Maisie is responsible for this? She's an ordinary girl, I don't think she has the power to do this. We need to hear her side of the matter" He said to them.

Nabbing the attention of a passing teacher, he ordered Maisie to be brought to his office.

They waited for some minutes in the office, quietly but Collins could see the anger in Mrs. Derek's expression, she was biting her lips and tapping on the ground angrily as if she couldn't wait for the girl to be brought forward and devoured by her.

Maisie was with her friends when Mr Denise called her, "Your presence is needed by Mr. Collins" The man told her and then left the class, It was break time and the class was rowdy as usual.

Danisa frowned, "The principal? What does he want to see you for?" She inquired.

Maisie shrugged her shoulder as she slowly got up from the seat, and among her friends, she heard Isolde saying, "What if the truth has been revealed?"

Fear was written over Maisie's face at the mention of that. Though she knew it would happen and her presence would be demanded, she didn't expect it to be this soon.

Liam and Xav who were oblivious to the whole scenario inquired with a questioning brow about what was transpiring, but the girls were panicking and couldn't answer them. Danisa said, "Why don't I escort you to the principal's office, hmm?"

"That would be fine, I guess" Maisie didn't turn down the offer. She knew Isolde couldn't come along because she had work to do, being their class representative. With that being said, the two girls exited the classroom for the principal's office.

After some minutes, they arrived at the office. Maisie gently knocked on the door and was instructed to come in, while Danisa stayed back as she wasn't the one who was being called.

Stepping into the office with a worried expression and heartbeat going haywire, Maisie clenched her fists by her side softly as she approached the table, however, her face was met with a huge slap and she fell to the ground.

Principal Collins hurriedly stood up from the chair and ran to assist her, He turned to Mrs Derek. "You cannot assault our student or else you will face repercussions!" He warned sternly. He knew that the woman was very annoyed at the moment because of her son's loss, but that didn't mean that she could go around hitting his students. Maisie was still innocent in this matter until proven guilty and the man was going to get to the root of the matter before pronouncing any judgment on the young lady.

He gently pulled Maisie up, where she was still shaken by the slap she just received, a single tear had escaped from her eyes as she looked down. Not daring to look at Mrs Derek's fuming face.

"What repercussions?" Mrs. Derek bellowed, "Tell me who is going to punish me if I discipline this mannerless child. How dare she hurt my son! Tell me, are you a student or not, how on earth did you remove his arm and why!?" She demanded all at once.

Principal Collins brought the girl to a nearby seat and asked her to sit on it. Maisie fearfully sat, all the while, not lifting her gaze to meet the woman who had just dealt with her. She had never for once been hit in her life and this just left her dumbfounded.

"Maisie dear, could you please tell us what happened? Connor keeps saying you are responsible for the loss of his arm" Collins coaxed the girl.

She looked up to meet his brown eyes, "I-I-I did nothing Principal Collins" She said.

"It was Collins who had stalked me and was trying to take advantage of me" She said the part that could save her, however, the woman shrieked in anger.

"Would you like to receive more slaps so that your brain can reset? 'What do you mean by taking advantage of you?' she emphasized that word which had irked her. "You have nothing to be taken from you! Such a lousy animal!" She spat furiously.

Collins warned her again, "Your behavior cannot be tolerated Mrs. Derek, as a principal, fairness is important, you simply cannot put blame on her because your son told you to. Until there is more evidence proven that she is guilty, will I hand her to the authorities" He stood up to face them.

"There should be security cameras around, I'll have them check the footage of where the incident happened, and then we can know the truth" He proposed to the raging bull.

Mr Derek spoke up next, "If there is no evidence, this girl must be expelled before she harms other students. Or else I'll make you responsible for Connor" He threatened the teacher, patting his wife, he gently pulled her out of the office and they went away.

Collins sighed... Never in his entire history has he heard of anything outrageous like this and it took a toll on him.

"Would you like to explain how his arm got torn like that, what did you do?" The principal asked. He imagined if the girl was a vampire or werewolf to have torn Connor's arm.

'No, no no," He said to himself, 'They don't exist, I must have been reading too much fiction

The girl wasn't able to explain because she already started sobbing. Her first experience of being hit made her sad, she wasn't able to speak.

"Go to your class Maisie. I'll find out the truth, if you are indeed innocent, you will be free but if not, you'll be expelled from the school" He told her clearly.
