Chapter 23: Plan "B"

Tyler and I were waiting in the bar at the coven’s meeting place when Linc arrived. Since it was still early, we were the only ones there except for the bar staff.
“It didn’t work, Linc?” I asked as she came to join us at the bar, taking the seat to my right.
“Yes and no,” Link replied.
“Meaning?” I pressed.
“I got Jess to admit she was in love with you,” Linc replied casually. “She probably still is. She was pretty upset when I told her you asked me out.”
I was floored. By the first part. “And she said that?” I asked, sounding more panicked than I liked. “In those words, she said that she loved me?”
“Not in those words,” Linc admitted. “But she did tell me she has feelings for you, Felix. And that she’s had them for a while.”
Tyler clapped his hand on my shoulder. “Felix, good for you,” he congratulated me.
