But she couldn't leave. She had nowhere to go. At one point, she had tried running away but she had returned back into her room when a cricket jumped on her.

Many times, she had attempted suicide but the maids had somehow found her hanging from the ceiling or drowning herself in the bath tub or trying to suffocate herself with a nylon.

When she got tired, she decided to dye her hair red and purple. Something to scare her parents when they returned. Something to make the students talk and teachers call her into their offices.

Once she was done dying it, she has gone to school the next day with her newly dyed hair piled atop her head. People stared at her and whispered in low tones as she walked past them, feigning confidence and acting like whatever they said didn't matter.
