Part: 8 ~ The Echo in The Room

On the other side of the palace, at the same time Artemis and Ace are talking in the woods, May jumps slightly at the sound of Ace abruptly slamming the door closed but quickly regains her composure as she begins to clean up the plates of half-eaten lunch, replacing the plates with questionnaire cards in front of the selected. As Canis looks down at the card, he notices that the handwriting looks familiar, but cannot seem to remember where he had seen the style before. "The prince hand wrote these for each of you. Please fill them out accordingly." May speaks as she finishes picking up the plates and handing them to another maid.

Canis begins to fill out the questionnaire as one of his bracelets comes into view. The bracelet is a simple dark metal black chain with a loop, the loop has the same chain coming through with an inch long blood red pyramid shaped gem at the end of the chain. Clark notices and snarks at Canis "Isn't the lady supposed to have a blood gem! Have worthless gay mutt!" Canis ignores Clark but puts his head down. May clears her throat and then reminds Clark, "The prince has asked that you refrain from insulting others' beliefs and decisions, I and the prince would appreciate it if you could follow the simple request." Clark pushes himself away from the table and angerly stops towards the door that leads to the painting covered hallway he entered from. After a few minutes all the selected finished their cards and excused themselves out the same door. They see a large grey wolf with a scar of a claw mark over the wolfs right eye and in front of that beast of a creature is Clark. Clark angerly screams at the creature blocking his path, "You stupid d-"Echo growls and snarls showing his massive teeth as he walks towards Clark. Mary asks Shiba, "what should we do?" "I don't know." Kathleenia interjects, "Its not like anyone is going to miss the dude. Just let him dig his own grave and then the thing will be full and let us pass." Clark screams towards the others, "A little help here!" as Echo swiftly approaches stepping step after step with a growing fit of anger. Canis who had been quietly thinking and holding Yami in his arms, slowly places Yami on the ground and takes a shacky step forward towards Clark. Mary exclaims to Canis, "Are you stupid or something!?! Get away from that thing!" Canis slowly keeps moving closer to the giant beast, with fear hovering over his whole body he slowly raise a hand. Clark quickly turns tails and hides behind Canis as the orange haired eighteen-year-old keeps approaching the monster. Echo growls louder and opens his jaws snarling at Canis. Canis pause for a second from the fear of the creature but then manages to compose himself enough to keep approaching the beast. Canis stretches his arm out as he slowly gets close enough to the creature to place his hand at the beast nose. Canis whole arm is shaking from the fear of the wolf.

"I say he gets eaten whole. How about you guys?" Clark says as he looks at the others. "That is disturbing due what the hell is wrong with you!" Mary speaks as she pushes Clark back. Shiba steps backwards away from everyone horrified of all that has happened in one cursed day. Kathleenia remains still as she looks at Canis, intrigued by what transpire next. Canis closes his eyes as the hand reaches Echo's nose. Echo stops his growling and bows down towards the pale green eyed eighteen-year-old. Everyone looks on in shock as Canis slowly starts to open his eyes to see the once terrifying and large beast sitting in front of him staring into his soul.

"Impressive!" Ace shouts as he rounds a corner at the end of the hall and makes himself known. "I should have expected nothing less!" Ace continues as he makes his way to the group of terrified selected. "You planned this!" Clark screams at Ace. Clark clearly seems to be emotionally unstable after Canis managed to calm Echo and the newfound information of Ace's set up. "Yes, I did plan this. It was a test, and well sadly only one of you passed in my opinion. Though it is up to our precious prince to decided for himself who passed or failed this test of skills." "You!!" Clark screams as he heads towards Ace fist a blaze. Swiftly Echo stands from his spot in front of Canis and blocks Clark's path towards Ace growling at the otter who has failed to learn his lesson. "I don't think violence is the answer, Clark." Canis quickly and softly states. Clark growls in frustration and backs down from attacking Ace, slowly stepping back towards the others. "Well, all that is missing is a small fire and I think that would be the worst ever imaginable reality of today." Shiba states as she heads towards Canis and Ace, only in aims to get past the two men to reach her room to rest after such an eventful day. "I agree, I think today couldn't get any worse." Mary exclaims quick to follow Shiba's lead. Kathleenia remains silent as she follows the other two girls making a point to rudely bump her shoulder into Canis and then Ace. "Well, I agree with the ladies today has been a long day. Its about time for an afternoon nap and then a lovely dinner. I do hope you will join us for dinner Canis." Ace speaks as he walks away from view.
