C 68. Divine Happiness

The world stood still for me as his happiness permeated everywhere. 

The wind blows, the plant flails, birds, insects, and all the other hidden animals come out.

They all come out from their hiding place, jumping around and making sounds. 

But to me, the sound is a sonata in a congregation.

Because within the chirping of birds, squeaking of squirrels, and splashing fish within the pond, they all radiate the same happiness as the Subject.

Or to be exact they are affected by his halo of happiness.

To me, It felt as if I'm reborn, all my negativity was washed away. To relish it opened my senses to the fullest to enjoy the feeling.

I believe this is once in a lifetime.

To my amazement, it's not suffocating, nor was it overwhelming, I take it all in me without any side-effects.

This is against what I know about my powers. When I sense deep emotions in someone, I sometimes need to tune down my emotion, else I will begin to instantly behave like the person and in the end, I may lose my sense of self.

But this happiness is clean, so clean that even if I get lost in it, my sense of self is safe. 

I can extricate myself from his happy emotion, but I won't, it will be a stupid mistake.

I jumped forward saying, "Congratulations for them, it's a great opportunity for them!"

"Yes, it's their only chance, they have almost lost hope to the point their action was only a reflex of instinct to survive, but now, everything will change.

If not because of their Star, the world would have already submerged in chaos a millennium ago. 

But it was a futile effort even for the Star to delay, but now things will change." 

As if down with realization he shouted again with glee.

"Oh! My God. That was what we called true love and a sense of duty.

It may have stayed in place to hibernate and heal, but it didn't. In the death door, it has been dragging its body through space to reach the orbit line of the planet.

It was a crawl, and each move caused it more injury. It may have died if any stray asteroid hit it, or any broken planet. 

But it persists on moving, either to die trying or reaching its destination and now it has reached.

And the ingenious action was marvellous.

It turns to an Eternal Moon cascading a light towards the last place that has not been corrupted.

Its ray of light creates a perfect dome that will give them time to grow and fight back the corruption!"

It's like a story of a far distant civilization that has faced calamity that wiped out the world with corruption. What is the source of the corruption?

I feel afraid for no reason, I can see flashes of scenes through my emotional sensors but I dampened it, but then I think it was unwise.

If anything, this is the perfect time to comprehend it. So I let my mind wander. 

Everything that he said I saw in a good movie way, there are things I don't understand but the halo of happiness blocks anything of discomfort from happening to me.

It was only for a moment but I was drenched in sweat. I felt my legs weak and then I kindly sat on the grass.

Watching him from where I sat on the grass. He was so happy for an alien civilization just because they have a fighting chance in an already doomed world

~Sigh~ with melancholy!

What I saw was utter despair. I don't believe they will be saved. 

It's just a fighting chance, not a guarantee of survival.

Even if the divine creates a hopeful situation for them.

I did not know when tears trickled down my eyes, maybe he watched them struggle from the beginning and know their world is doom for sure.

Now that a small ray of hope comes, he was so happy from the depth of his soul.

But to me, the situation is hopeless.

He yelled again.

"Congratulations Star, your planet has a fighting chance. I hope they keep resisting and never lose hope!" He said for the last time.

~Phew~

I on the other side took my tablet and started writing what I experienced from the emotional vision.

"Hehe" I raised my head and found him laughing at me as if I'm doing something stupid.

Anyway, he walked away and lay down. He seemed exhausted but that smile was still there. 

I finished typing and saved it. 

I rested my body on the grass to take a nap. It was then that I noticed Sam stand up by the door.

His eyes shifted and looked at me smiling. Without having the strength to entertain him, I fall asleep.

…

I only slept for one and a half hours. But I felt reborn as if I'm cleansed from all sins.

Through the years my heart was getting heavy by the day because I carry other people's emotions but now all that is gone.

I looked around and I found the Subject deep in his sleep.

I stand up and I walk to the little kitchen that I made in the natural garden to be cooking food.

I collect the material that I store in the refrigerator to cook something simple. After I finished I stored his share in a flask which he would take when he needed it.

And then I walk out knowing Director Khan and his army of scientists are waiting for an explanation.

As expected, they were there, but the only person that was not there was Director Khan himself.

Bob the fat Doctor said that I will be meeting the Director in his office now.

I'm tired but nevertheless, I walk into a pod that transports me there. My mind was blurry due to speed, a second later I was in the office.

They call it an office but in truth, it was just another personal lab for them.
