C 51. Little Devil Narration

In quick succession, the Psychiatrist, Dr Sam, and Dr Khan bring out a white ball and throw it in the room. 

The ball flashed with light and they retrieved the ball and stored it away.

"Hmm, you don't want to know about your subject? Madam 9 will make me forget if I leave this place!" The little devil said while levitating on air.

She seems to wallow in her thoughts and condition but still wants attention to herself. 

"You don't want to know? Too bad it was a great experience that will be valuable to your research!"

I can see that the Psychiatrist wanted to say something but he refrained. What the hell is going on? 

After calming down a bit Dr Khan said, "What was it you experienced?"

"Gazing at me with anger and yet you expect me to open up." She smiled mischievously and added, "I did my research, let's exchange findings." 

She said it as if she has equal standing as him.

"My anger is not directed at you, and you know that very well, don't you?

Little girl, you might be amazing, but you should know your place and behave well. 

Now, you invaded my subject's mind and entered his dream. What will you say about it?"

"You are no fun! I was just playing around. I got curious why I have not seen Bala recently, then I asked around and I found he was here undergoing an awakening.

So, I get this feeling that I want to know more. Suddenly, Mary awaken an ability because she met someone in her dream

And, later it was said she met Balarabe. 

Ever since then she has behaved strangely whenever she was asked about her dreams.

I got curious to know about his dream and here I am after I managed to break your security."

"What did you see in there?" The Psychiatrist asked at last. Perhaps he was waiting for the question session.

"No, what did you do to him?" Dr khan interjected. 

"Nothing, I did nothing. My Phantom only passed through his mind to reach the… Plane…!" She paused.

"Haha, you know what, I realised why he never called his dreaming a dream, but Nightmares.

THAT place is terror, a place that those with a small and fragile mind can't withstand. 

Dr Khan, can you imagine that your Subject has been living in that Plane all his life, and yet he still has his sanity!"

"And now with your stupid curiosity, you bridge the two minds."

"Yeah, I guess, but I did save Mary. If not because of me she will have been lost forever. Did you check her condition? Please do.

I will advise her never to go back there, the place isn't made for Null like her. 

Well, it isn't that bad if I think of it, she has a guardian."

"What can you recall that can be the major characteristic of the dream?"

She looked at Psychiatrists thinking, the ones that asked the question. 

Her expression changes from time to time as if trying to recall things that she has forgotten.

"The place is the same as hundreds of dreams that I invaded. It's empty without objects… It's vast without any boundaries.

Though there are certain special people that their dream is full of fun things, some that are close to Planets, some close to a Star.

Or even having multiple people having their dreams at the same place with each other, they turn the place into a location of meeting where they laugh, communicate and also perform their daily challenges.

But, they all have one thing in common, there are starlights from far away, a sprinkling of star dots can always be seen." She said in thoughts.

Then she continued, "As for him! It's black without an ounce of light! 

No, the darkness is thick, thicker than I ever felt, in a way that it may absorb or devour the light.

No, I did not voice it right. It is more as if the darkness is what makes the place, thick as liquid, hard as space. It permeates everything.

I think if a portion of it was brought to where light is, it would behave the same way as light in the dark.!"

A very confusing description if you ask me.

But the girl seems different as she talks with great understanding and experience, totally not like a nine-year-old girl.

Why is she looking at me? I stared back at her with a challenge when I felt a hand over my shoulder.

I calm down and avert my gaze.

"She can feel it when some people are thinking about her!"

Yeah, she is becoming creepier by the moment.

"I might be creepy but I'm not a mindless killing machine!!!"

What fuck did she mean? I was about to curse her too when a small shock on my throat prevented me from speaking. 

My suit acted against me.

"Any other things?" The doctors asked.

"No."

"What scares you and Balarabe?"

She stared at them!

"A… beast.. I think!!"

"What type?"

Her stare had not averted when we saw a portion of her hair turning grey. In a swift movement, a silhouette of a woman appeared behind her and touched her head.

The little girl lost consciousness, still floating on air as the woman was holding her.

"Let us leave, I need to stabilise her." The woman said.

"Not until Director Benjamin is here!" Dr Khan refused.

"You should let them leave. More problems with crops from the girl." The Psychiatrist said.

"No, I'm waiting for Director Benjamin to be here, I have sent him a message. He should be here long ago but I believe something is holding him."

"Call him again." Dr Sam said.

By now apart from me the rest of the soldiers left. But I can understand something is brewing between these Doctors.

As Dr khan walks out of the room the rest of us follow him, except for the woman and the girl.

A minute later a hologram of Director Benjamin appears. All the Doctors assume good posture and greet him.

But I can see Dr khan is still annoyed but still showed some necessary respect.

Damn, I'm the only oddball here. So I moved very close, but a little bit behind Dr Sam.

"Dr Khan, I received your message, then, we were in an important meeting outside the planet, that is why I couldn't get back to you.

But now since I see everything is moving normally, the rest will be addressed at a later date after we return."
