~Chapter 9 1/2 Blaze's POV~
I looked up at him before speaking "Dustin what can I do to make you stop and take your medicine?" For once he stopped and listened to what I said. His reply shocked me. It took me a few minutes to process what he said and if I had misheard him. "I want you to mark me," Dustin bluntly said. "A-are you serious?" I had managed to stammer out. "I'm willing to come to a compromise so listen closely." I nodded and started listening intently. It was like he had all the control and all I could do is sit and listen. "Now it's a win-win situation. I can leave that hellhole of a pack and you get a mate for the pack. Plus no one would bother me with you being around. You also will be the only one to feel the side effects of my heat. So what do you say Blaze?" I thought about it for a couple of moments before asking a question. "You realize you won't be able to have another mate? You would also be with someone you don't love forever?" I asked him. "A small price to be free," he said while shrugging. "Are you willing to risk love for freedom?" "Yes," he said, short and direct. I sighed "Okay now lay down." I thought for a second while he laid down. What kind of a place did he live in to be willing to not love anyone else for freedom? I sighed, brushing my hair back with my hand. "Okay. This will hurt a little bit." I moved him off of me and laid him on his stomach. I massaged his neck a little bit. I could tell he was nervous no matter how confident he tried to show. I continued to massage his neck until his neck muscles were not as tense. I leaned over the nape of his neck. His skin is very pale and it looks almost white. I looked over to where Dustin's head was buried in the pillow. "Just hurry this up already." He grumbled while burying his head deeper into the pillow. "Okay. Okay." I once again leaned over his neck and I bit down. I heard a whimper come from Dustin. The whimper was barely audible because of the pillow but I was still able to hear it. I held my grip for a couple seconds more so it would leave a mark. I could feel Dustin squirming because of the weird feeling. I let go and looked down at his neck. It was bleeding a little bit. There was a visible bite mark on the nape of his neck now. Dustin and I are now mates till the day we die. There is no turning back now.
