Without hesitation, they fired back at their intruders who watched with dismay at their decision. Ruthlessly ignoring the frail condition of their headquarters that rattled beneath their feet from each shot marking the corridors, hissing in a fit of anger. Their helmets expressionless, blankly bemused at the rapid debris and bullets missing their mark, unable to hit any of them whilst they dodged around the corridors.
She turns to her right, watching Hanson raise his watch up to no avail, simply reflecting the aging effects off the armed men closing the gap and forced to retreat amongst the living slimy barriers and machines swarming the walls. Tired and haggard at the tumultuous amount of tasks on their plate.
"What's with their agility?!?"
Atsuki fumed at the speedy soldiers. Acrobatically twisting around with mocking style, laughing at her and Verda's miserable abilities. Humiliated and outmatched like her peers who stood back helpless, nudging the man in the casket for answers. Urging for some response as a team even when they are fractured but he won't budge. Simply observing like a robot with their adopted son by his back, unwilling to present him out of fear they didn't understand their situation.
No matter how hard she tried, she still can't feel any semblance of trust. A man who she had met only several hours ago can't ease her heart. Then again, this feeling is too commonplace to think about. Yet, with all of the walls closing in, she could really use some assistance from a man who fought off squadron of aliens at once.
She immediately grabbed hold of all of the armed men in place, trying to fling them across the walls and push them back. Firmly grasping her palm and gripping it forcefully with Verda reinforcing her strength. Her head twitched winced with strenuous difficulty, perspiring in the trembling cold. Hoping her eyes does not flutter at the armed men who stood stranded in their suits. Fuming gleefully at the stiff positions they are in with their guns stuck to their places.
"W-What?!? Why are they so heavy?!?"
She exerts even more force, lurching them back slightly as their large metal boots scrap the floor, tearing apart the metal tiles in place and digging deeper into the unsafe structure like a chisel through sludge. For armour this thick, the fact the space station is able to hold their weight was far too irksome to step on. All but disgusting piles of wasted cash they could splurge. A huge blunder in their estimation of their power.
"Tightrope Emo Quarter!"
Static lightning wrapped around his palm, igniting a ball of black cloud around him which covered his back. Trembling with a low boom. Raising his arm and firing a bright glow of purple lightning against the crowd of armed men unfazed in their armour. Shrugging off much of the electricity aside with their blank expressions. Unsure what he had planned to do with his obnoxious naming of his power.
"W-What is this sensation?!?"
More lighting flashed around his palm, striking around the soldiers who laughed beneath their helmet. Weak at his multiple failed attempts. He turns to look around, watching the back cloud of terror get sucked away from the air vents in the ceiling. Defusing the static electricity around his fingertips as if he was nothing more than a hindrance in their endeavours like the crushed irreparable remnants of The Creator's machines still hissing about around their motors.
He gritted his teeth, vexed at the men with their symbol of a serpent and Carolingian sword side by side. Shimmering above his failure at his late realisation with widened eyes and inadverted haste. They had just entered the spider's den. Supers can fail.
"No more tampering with the atmosphere mister frail!"
The armed men surrounded the entire the group at lightning speed. Breaking free from their dwindling telekinetic abilities with they eyes directed at their arms raised in the air inside the tight slimy walls. Gulping in shock at their swift response. Unhurt from their ordeal. successfully completing their operation far too smoothly and one sided for Derek to swallow. It as if they were expecting them to come to that very spot. Ready to humiliate them.
Derek seethed, sensing the strange feeling of injustice in his heart. He can't pinpoint it but the blank faces aiming their guns right back at them unnerved him in every bit of the way. The fractured system and the higher ups of The Light of Men were no better, tarnishing their means for their own gain with a large signboard that roused the populace around all of the sectors. These armed soldiers were sneaky, less human unlike the others. Unable to truly be understood unless they followed their dogma like prisoners.
"The fact that you found us was just simply rotten luck. But the next few moments would make you wish you stayed below the surface of the earth! You barbaric monkeys!"
The armed man pulled Atsuki through the gap of the thick slimy walls by her sweaty shirt, drained to act against the man with a hollow gaze. Grasping his wrist to try and break away desperately with trembling fingers. She gritted her teeth, watching her friends silently gulp in despair. Unable to act against an enemy they can't win, even if they had a brazen plan. She clenched her fist, free from their grasp, ready to go against the man about to smash his helmet in her face.
"You dare!?!"
She lurched herself forward, embracing the impact from his helmet with her fist at the ready. Slamming each others head in a game of chicken. Her blood soaked her head, bruising in a hazy purple which left her dazed. Smashing the lens beneath the helmet with cracks forming around it's heavy tint. Ready for another go if not for sudden tazing of her waist on both ends.
"Do you have a death wish?"
She screamed, biting her lips with fluttering eyes, phasing in and out of the darkness amongst the armed men surrounding her body, dragging her away into the darkness with static electricity around her back. Wielding their stun guns out in the open as if they were to taunt her. A feeling Tanner cannot stand.
"Is Hacksaw around?"
He turns to look at Shane who fiddled with her phone beneath her pocket, desperate to get on the hotline Leroy had set up weeks before everything went downhill at Lyx's appearance. She blinks around the armed men struggling to go any closer at the two slimy creatures trying to enter their armoured suits. Distracted at their resistance with thankful ignorant bliss.
The line he originally set up was meant to be an emergency line directed to him. As the leader of the group, he could lead others to their rescue or summon a squadron of armoured suits of his creation to their aid if his call goes unanswered. A desperate call to escape from the clutches of death with it's effective range found across the entire planet and beyond. For a space station close by and near size of the moon, such a call was as easy as pie. However, she had been calling for over two minutes with him and his plans unresponsive to her cries of help. Rumbling without action as if the communications between them were jammed.
"This is bad. Really bad."
Leroy scrambled across the sky, fighting the multitude of alien crafts standing in his way and the three jets which scrambled off the runway of the giant space station, surrounding each other and firing back at him in response. Pushing him far from the reaches of their headquarters. He couldn't tell the shape of their aircraft with their blistering speed. Leaving nothing but a red trail of light across the debris filled landscape. Disabled and out of the run from their invaders with unforeseen vulnerabilities. Weapons they would love to use against the invaders sweeping up Latin America and Australia despite their heavy resistance.
He can't tell where the others were. Separated from the chaos at the heavy bombardment from the giant space station, nearly forcing him to rip off the armour of his already weak machine that struggled to move if not of his rapid typing of the control settings that made his hands tremble in cold sweat. He fired off more shots, hesitant to release his cabinet of machines still untouched from his interconnected phone as bright sparks lurk far towards the other direction on one of the runways. Illuminating the dark silhouette that was the Cthulhu and a monster of intimidating stature. Ready to watch each of their heads roll.
"My apologies for my outburst earlier, this is getting a little confusing for us both in the silence of space. As a noble person, I'll rather speak to you in person via the monitor, is that acceptable for you? Young man?"
The voice lingered with concern, awaiting the response with a quaint British and Chinese accent he can't discern from. Hiding things he still couldn't understand. However for a man who enforces his brute strength with a strong sense of honour, he couldn't help but feel eager to agree to his demands. Even if he hid his true intentions.
"Sure."
His machine moved away from his, bowing gracefully with his backpack staring upon him with neutral glare. It's two pairs of crystal blue eyes curdled at the sight, unveiling in the bright lights a monster with three heads. Two dog heads similar to that of a wolf and a goat form it's back, hiding it's sharp fangs and linking up with it's thrusters as if it did nothing but show off it's edginess in it's well-built grey and black two-tone structure. It's head was rough in shape, a literal dog head smaller than those on it's back, hiding nothing but a small cannon in its mouth.
Surrounding it was what seemed like a beige cotton scarf which warped around its body, hiding what looked like a giant chain with a modified hook from a ship. On each limb, giant retractable claws hung by it's wrist, concealing the superheated chains below it's palm. Towards the bottom, giant thrusters surround his ankles, limping around the cold breeze with additional machinations it has yet to reveal. It's leg was filled with collars full of sharp edges, hiding what seemed to be it's docile nature. A true gatekeeper.
The two pairs of eyes on it's back glared upon their intruder who tried to tear apart it's walls. Unnerved at the demonic machine who looked at his fellow dominion with respect. Even if it came from a myth spelt out a long time ago from a man and his creative ideas.
"Call me Chao Xiang, the pilot of the gatekeeper guarding this military headquarters. Cerberus."
"Jango Fonhof, pilot of the infamous Cthulhu."
"How did they not see that glowing alien child riding on his back?!? I can never understand!" - Eddy, 2121
