Offers and Demands

Mr. Masombuka exited the car and looked at the luxurious Ngobeni villa with beautiful gardening and a big pool connected to the villa. Ten security guards lined up at the front door, all looking at Mr. Masombuka, about thirty were roaming around the yard.

He smiled at the site of the security guards as he walked to the front door of the villa with butler Mabena, who was also smiling. "Well it's time to see what they stored for me." Mr. Masombuka thought as he entered the door with the guidance of butler Mabena.

Inside the villa Themba Ngobeni and Thomas were sitting on the brown ladder couches, five security guards were position in a perfect pentagon around the couches. Mr. Masombuka looked all the security guards before he took a seat opposite to Themba.

"You must be Mr. Masombuka, Themba Ngobeni, the head of the Ngobeni family." Themba said as he looked Mr. Masombuka with a smile.

Mr. Masombuka looked at Themba and smiled a bit. "Let's just get to the point, time is money, speaking of money, where's my other thirty thousand." He said with a bit of a frown as he lean back on the couch.

Bustard, who the hell do you think you are, speaking to the master in such a disrespectful manner, I should cut your head right here and now. Butler Mabena said looking at Mr. Masombuka with a frown face.

"You can try, but if it's your head that gets cut, don't blame me when you see the gates of hell." Mr. Masombuka said without even looking at butler Mabena.

Butler Mabena frown a bit, he knows that he is not as strong as Mr. Masombuka but since his master and the young master are present, he knows they wouldn't let Mr. Masombuka cut his head, so he said; "just because you took out Sammy, that doesn't make you invincible, this is the Ngobeni residence not your school ground."

Mr. Masombuka side glanced butler Mabena. "You had your tail tucked between yours legs when we were coming here, now you see these fools, you act like a big man, do really believe they can protect you?" He asked, his voice cold.

Hearing Mr. Masombuka calling them fools, the five guards looked at him as they clench their fist, gritting their teeth, just as one was about to say something Themba raised his left hand, everyone stood still. He threw a brown paper bag to the coffee table.

"As promised, it's all there." Themba said, looking at Mr. Masombuka in the eyes. "Maybe you have misunderstood something, I don't want a fight, I called you here to talk business." He said his gaze fixed on Mr. Masombuka.

Mr. Masombuka took the brown paper bag with a smile; under everyone's gaze he sniffed the stack of notes in his hand. "If its business, then I'm all ears." he said as he put the money inside his security vest

Seeing Mr. Masombuka smiling like an idiot in the face of money, butler Mabena clicked his tongue, Themba saw this he also relaxed a bit. "Who doesn't like money?" Themba thought.

"I've been told about your talents in martial arts, a man with your talents, is highly valued at the Ngobeni residence, I can give you three million Rands yearly plus a car. In the Ngobeni family, you will have much more than money; you'll have status and protection." Themba said with smile as he crossed his legs, while looking at Mr. Masombuka.

"It's a tempting offer." Mr. Masombuka said with a smile.

Thinking he has got him, Themba added; "if you agree, I can deposit half of the money today, as a welcoming bonus, then after six months; your three million in full." He said as he pushed the contract to Mr. Masombuka

Mr. Masombuka looked at Themba with narrowed eyes. "I hear you have a high-end restaurant in the central zone of Bongsburg." Mr. Masombuka ignored the contract and looked at Themba in the eyes.

"The Ngobeni family owns a lot of restaurants in the city, the one in the central zone is newly built, if you sign the contract, you'll be able to dine and wine in every restaurant for free." Themba said, thinking Mr. Masombuka had never been in a high-end restaurant.

"Put it on the contract, I want it." Mr. Masombuka said with a straight face

Everyone's jaw dropped, Themba looked at Mr. Masombuka with narrowed eyes. "Is he really talking about my favorite restaurant, the one with ten floors, excluding the underground parking and the ground floor?" He asked himself as he shook his head. "Maybe I heard him wrong." He thought.

Thomas looked at his father with a frown face; Themba has been taking him to some minor business meetings to learn the art of negotiating, so he knows that this is just daylight robbery.

Seeing everyone looking at Themba, who was looking at Mr. Masombuka like he was looking at the grim reaper. Mr. Masombuka opened his mouth. "That's what will take for me to join your ranks." He said with a smile.

Themba frown. "You must be joking, that restaurant is worth more than your life and your entire family, I can give you a membership card at best." He said his voice cold.

Mr. Masombuka laughed out loud and clapped his hands then stopped after a while; he looked at Themba in the eyes, his gaze cold. "Your Ngobeni family is the same as shit in my eyes." He kicked the coffee table to the air and jumped on top of it then sat cross-legged on as it came back to the floor.

Everything happened so fast, the guards, butler Mabena, Thomas and his father didn't react in time. As the table came down to the same spot. Bang! The noise woke the guards. Mr. Masombuka looked at Themba who hasn't caught up with the situation. "Don't talk about the worth of my life, I can take yours in a heartbeat and no one can stop me." He said his voice and gaze cold.

Seeing the situation, one guard reacted faster, he jumped, leaving an afterimage behind. "You bustard." He shouted as he approached Mr. Masombuka with a punch.
