This Forest made it impossible to navigate her way through the moon or constellations.

Furthermore, wolves were living in packs and if there was a lone wolf, it meant that it wasn't an animal but a shapeshifter.

And not to her surprise, only Saint Faes, demons, immortals, and humans with great status and enormous cultivation chords could shift their shapes; those who cultivated and refined severely to acquire such blessings, the genius seniors.

Looking at Xaiojiao she sighed, "Now that I'm here, I grow more worried."

The cub indicated her objection with a grunt and exposed her bloody fangs in rage; she loathed her words.

Wang Hua raised her palm and surrendered to her.

"Calm down! I'm at your disposal."

Tilting her head, with a dithering mind Wang Hua trudged inside.

Despite her repulsive venture, she placed Xiaojiao in a corner and looked back at the wolf that fainted.

"Will you be safe? I can't leave you alone with him."

The cub was too vulnerable to show any reaction.

Her heart throbbed insanely, but to speed up her pace she had no other option rather than leaving her spirit animal. She was supposed to find a remedial herb containing Qi as quickly as she could.

In the end, this wolf saved her life and it wasn't just a trivial matter she could skip. As a noble lady, she was obligated to return every distinguished favor.

She couldn't deny that she was consumed by her trepidation. She was a genuinely worthless person that wasn't even capable of making a small light ball to illuminate her path on this cursed night yet he saved her regardless of everything.

The forest had thick old trees so the air ran damp and humid. Here, invariably came to be a lovely place for haunting grotesque creatures and witches. It could bring a chill to one's head and prevent them from even talking about it. No one was that stupid to cross the outskirts and step on this cursed forbidden area, except for her.

She could not even remember how her route changed to this Forest. Those men appeared before she could pluck her first plant up. She was accustomed to heading back home before dusk but today it took her longer and danger traversed its way to strangle her.

While carefully searching for the herbs, she saw fireflies and smiled. For a short moment, she forgot all about her stepmother's malicious intention. But nothing could heal her pricked heart.

She could have imagined everything but a murder plan. Was her sister Wang Ah Lam aware of this? No, it was not possible, Wang Ah Lam had always been treating her pleasingly, and even the moments she was whipped, the girl came to heal her. She brought her food secretly to make sure Wang Hua would improve fast.

'Yes, this is impossible!' she shook her head to brush it away.

Convincing herself, she Cleaned the cold sweat on her forehead with her sleeve. Her hands then rested on her hips. Wherever these small insects were, with their aid she could find magical herbs that contained qi. They also loved to absorb it. That was what she needed to save Xiaojiao and the white wolf.

Striding among them, she kept her eyes sharp on the ground. Eventually, one blessing graced her eyes and she found a herb with a pink trumpet-shaped flower. It was absorbing Qi and she could see the branches of moon essence on its glowing petals. It was called 'The Pink Bride' herb. Summer happened to be a good season for this plant to grow and it would live only for three weeks. She was lucky, indeed!

Moreover, she used her sword to spade the soil around the root. Its root contained enormous qi and it was enough for the Wolf and her cub.

Rooting out the herb, she rushed up on her feet to take her leave when the moon's reflection on the Spirit Lake's surface lured her.

People said no one should swim in Spirit Lake otherwise they would be snagged by demon mermaids. But she didn't see one! Probably because she had no magic essence to attract them.

"Many cultivators wait for this moon to appear and boost their magic for refinement. How does it taste?"

She slouched. If she had only a small magic core, the problem could be solved and those rascals from earlier could have never caught her with a small ball of magic. Her stomach still burned from that touch of the spell.

She creased her eyebrows unpleasantly and turned around, must stop longing for this right now. Perhaps there was a reason that she had no magic core, perhaps she must create one.

Going back to the cave, she saw a small stream. She was thirsty, her mouth tasted blood, and her lips were dry, those two lost blood similarly, and water was needed.

Washing her face and mouth, she gazed around to find something and carry some water.

Severing two broad leaves from the nearby plants, she made a funnel-form mug and filled it; she tasted the water already. It was cold and helped to calm her nerves.

Getting inside the cave, she walked to her small cub, taking her jaws and pouring water into her mouth.

"You should drink."

The cub obeyed and she went to the white wolf which looked treacherously scary.

Unfortunately, she earned no courage to approach his mouth, those strong jaws made her flinch. But she could not waste the water, her terrified eyes swayed between the mug made of leaf and his mouth.

He was in pain and his jaws pressed hard against each other. She swallowed, he could make her one morsel for dinner.

"Hey, I know it hurts but I must take this nail out so drink this water till I prepare the remedy!"

His eyelashes trembled, making her wince back. She was not that brave to open his mouth and pour water inside it.

"Listen, I've found a herb to heal you!"

"Look, it is the pink bride herb."
