I got out of my sweet thoughts with the ringing of Jules's cell phone. Jules answered her phone. She left the room for a moment, then hurried back to the room and said, "I'm very, very sorry, but I have to go see one of my patients."
Jules was anxious. I do not know why I was upset. Maybe it was because of Jules' concern. I could easily recognize her face. I immediately entered her mind. Her whole mind was almost dark inside a small room. In front of her sat a relatively young man in a prison uniform. Next to Jules was a middle-aged woman with a laptop. It wasn't easy to read Jules' mind. It was as if she would not let me go before and after her mind. I was stuck in that room. I felt myself next to Jules and inside that room. I had to get out of Jules' mind as soon as possible because I did not want to be imprisoned there. Jules was asking the man questions. The questions were about the children. I was stuck in Jules' mind. Suddenly Jules got up from behind the desk and came up to me and said, "Get out of my mind."
No one had ever noticed my presence in his/her mind. I was quickly thrown out of her mind. Jules was standing on the other side of the room. She looked at me and said, "I've been calling you for minutes. But you had fallen to thinking."
- "I apologize to you. It must be too late. You must interrogate your patient as soon as possible."
Jules came up to me and said, "I did not tell you that my patient was a prisoner. How did you find out?" Then she laughed and said, "Of course I forgot. You are the same person who about fifteen years ago realized that I wanted to kill myself and even read the thoughts in my mind, and of course, you are the same person who came back again after fifteen years and very accidentally. I forgot you are the one who knows my full name without telling you. I do not write my middle name almost anywhere, but you wrote in the signature of your painting that you present it to Jules Marley Black!"
Jules was noticeably nervous. I did not want to bother her. On the other hand, I was very shocked that her subconscious had noticed my presence in her mind. Maybe it was this confusion that made me talk about that prisoner. I said in a low voice, "I apologize to you. Maybe it would have been better if I had never seen you at all."
"Why are you pretending to be oppressed?" Jules growled.
I wanted to tell her that her guess was correct and that I could read her mind and the minds of others, and I have agnosia. I wanted to talk to her.
- "Aiden, please do not be silent. Your long silences make me nervous."
- "I really do not know what to say. You better go; it's late."
"You're scaring me," Jules said.
Suddenly Jules' face darkened. Agnosia was back. I was upset that Jules was afraid of me. Ever since I was a child, my powers have frightened me and others.
I got up from the couch and turned my back on Jules, and said, "Everyone has secrets for themselves, that prisoner, you, my old neighbor, her dead daughter, and of course, I have secrets too. It's scary. The difference between my secrets and yours is that I can't talk to anyone about them."
-"How do you know these things?"
Jules's cell phone rang again. I looked at her and said, "Maybe one day I will tell you my secrets. Now it's better to go and get to your patient. A patient who might want to tell you more about the fire."
I do not know why I kept saying strange things. I went to the exit. Near the stairs, Jules grabbed my left shoulder with her right hand, saying, "Did you think you would be attractive if you were so mysterious? Let me say that not only is this not attractive to you, but it is also very disgusting. I do not know you very well, but this behavior disturbs me. You like attracting attention."
"Jules, you're unlikely to label on others. You're a good psychologist. I read your resume before I came here. I know you're working with the police. When your phone rang, a person named Inspector Thomas called you, and I guessed a prisoner was waiting for you."
- "I apologize if I labeled you, but it's not right for you to disappear all at once. I do not like that you behave mysteriously. You know a lot about me. Did you read about fire in my resume too?!"
- "Forgive me, but I better go. Maybe one day I told you my secrets. I have your number; I will send you a message. I will not disappear."
I put my hand in my pocket, took out a piece of paper and a pen, and wrote down my apartment's address. I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. I had read Jules' mind before, but I had never stuck to it. Jules' subconscious noticed my presence in her mind. The meeting with Jules made me realize that calmness could eliminate agnosia.
I hurried home, thinking about what was happened today and how carelessly I talked to Jules. I should not let ordinary people know about my supernatural secrets.
The house is a symbol of peace for me. When I was buying this old apartment, all I wanted was peace. It was strange that I had this peace with Jules.
I had to start a new paint. I really liked working with sound. I can say that I really loved it. But one day I realized that I was too famous and I had escaped from Essex and my past. But my fame had brought me to the past from which I had escaped.
The city I lived in was full of people who were not ordinary at all. Those I did not want to see anymore. Those who had supernatural forces and I ran away from them.
A voice came to my apartment. I could not see who it was. I opened the door, but no one was behind the door. I closed the door. Maybe the doorbell is broken. I went to the kitchen to have a coffee.
I was standing in front of my new painting when a voice came from behind me. I turned my head. I saw someone in the shadows and darkness:
- "You can not hide your voices from me. Hello old friend ..."
