The Lazy Assassin

The world changed and humanity restarted civilisation. Monsters mutated from animals and roamed the world slowing the growth of mankind. Hunters and Adventurers were made official to help chart the world again. As they kill monsters, there are those who kill humans. Assassins were born when helpless citizens wanted revenge from the injustice they had received. Many Assassins rush out on jobs to quickly earn money as some people pay high prices for their requests. Ace, on the other hand, is an Assassin who hates to work. Although many thought he was weird, they eventually found out that he loved to go on vacations and spend his time sleeping or lazing under the sun. He was then nicknamed the (Lazy Ass)assin. Here, his story begins.

Battle between Smith and Swordsman

"Clothes for sale! Buy three get one free! Step up and buy these clothes". "D grade weapons for sale, they may look weak but can still make a monster cry!", "Best monster meat in town! Nowhere else to be found!", announced the shopkeepers as people walk past the busy streets.

'Damn, it's so crowded over here', Ace thought as he walks along the streets. "This is normal master, everyday there are people coming here to get rare items. The mountains surrounding us has an abundance of ores and precious metals. The water coming down from it is pure, making people all over the region come here", a soft voice spoke beside him.

"You have got to stop doing that", Ace gave a menacing look. "Sorry master", she squeaked. The sun was up high in the sky. Even with the hot weather, many people were walking about looking at the merchandise on sale.

Sometimes a breeze will pass through them cooling them down. Funny enough, the breeze always comes when a couple walks past them. They couldn't notice because of the crowded streets.

Soon, they arrived in front of a shophouse. A giant banner was placed on top of the entrance with the words "Edgard Smithy". Going in, they realised the shop had very few people.

"Master, you sure this is the place? There doesn't seem to be much people here", the girl asked while looking around her. "No worries, this is the place", Ace replied before walking towards a counter.

"Good afternoon sir, I'm sorry but Sir Edgard is not available to attend to any of your requests. Do look around at his merchandise and pick from there", the cashier said with a welcoming smile. The cashier wore a black vest over a long sleeved shirt with long black pants and black shoes. Some customers would think they were in an Inn sometimes.

"Alright then, I know he is making something back there. Just tell him this 'wherever the azure wind flows, death follows'. He will know what to do", Ace nonchalantly said before walking around the shop. "Alright good sir please wait a moment", the cashier said with a curious look. He turns around frowning while walking to the back of the store.

Meanwhile at Edgard Forgery.

*Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ssssssss* came the blunt sound of metal against metal. A bulky man covered in soot was hammering away at what seemed to be a sword with saw tooth along the edges. "Hmmm, still not good enough, needs to be sharper at the tip", he spoke to himself as he places it down and hammers again.

*Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!* he pauses for a moment. "I said no requests, didn't you hear me?!", he bellowed towards the cashier who had just come in. "I know big brother, but someone came in saying something about 'wherever the azure wind flowd, death follows' to me", the cashier said.

"WHAT?!" Edgard exclaimed, his face in disbelief. *Clank!* the sword was dropped onto the ground. "Shit, help me keep this warm, I'm not done yet", Edgard instructed before running off. "But I don't know how to.....", the cashier said as he looked at the departing figure.

Back at the shop.

"Master, these are way too expensive for me, I just need normal arrows", the girl whined as she looks through the rows of weaponry and armour. Every row had different types from swords, spear, hammers, shields, bows to helmets, bodysuits and boots. The metal was polished to perfection making it look grand and attention seeking.

"This is nothing, those are just C grade weapons", Ace nonchalantly replied as he looked at another row of weapons.

Shock covered her face as she heard his reply. "B..bu..but it looks so awesome!", she exclaimed seeming speechless. "I thought they were at least B grade weapons seeing how amazing they look. The blade is forged so beautifully", she spoke while her eyes widen at the display in front of her.

'Damn, his craftsmanship has increased , but what's unbelievable is the pricing too' Ace thought to himself shaking his head. Looking around at the customers who were just looking around and shaking their heads as they looked at the prices. 'Even they think so too', Ace smirked as he continued browsing the weapons section.

Suddenly he felt something coming like an earthquake as the floor vibrates heavily. *Dm! Dm! Dm!* Heavy footsteps sounded like it was moving quickly. "Hey, get far away from here!", Ace said to her as the footsteps came closer. Before she could react, she heard the footsteps getting near to them.

"AAAACCCEEEE!", bellowed a deep voice. 'There he goes again with that loud mouth', Ace sighed as he covers his face with his hand. *Crash* the door broke as a burly man with scars and soot all over his body came out emanating rage from his eyes. His unkempt beard and bushy brows looking like he never bathed for a very long time. With a huge rectangular hammer the size of a man's head in his hand, he pointed towards Ace.

"You little shit! You dare come here!", he roared. Charging forward, he swung his hammer towards Ace in a blink of an eye. Ace sidestepped from the incoming hammer, gliding along the wall trying to get away from the girl.

*BOOM! CRASH!* the rows of C grade weapons flew everywhere some breaking or bending out of shape. The wall broke apart sending dust and debris everywhere.

"Master!"
