The Lazy Assassin

The world changed and humanity restarted civilisation. Monsters mutated from animals and roamed the world slowing the growth of mankind. Hunters and Adventurers were made official to help chart the world again. As they kill monsters, there are those who kill humans. Assassins were born when helpless citizens wanted revenge from the injustice they had received. Many Assassins rush out on jobs to quickly earn money as some people pay high prices for their requests. Ace, on the other hand, is an Assassin who hates to work. Although many thought he was weird, they eventually found out that he loved to go on vacations and spend his time sleeping or lazing under the sun. He was then nicknamed the (Lazy Ass)assin. Here, his story begins.

"Brother, I left your work near the furnace, I didn't know what to do!?", the cashier came out of the forge, his uniform and hair in a mess. "That's okay, that wasn't a good piece anyway", Edgard replied as he walks towards a workshop at the back of the building.

"That's the customer just now!", the cashier exclaimed as he looks at Ace walking behind his brother. "Yeah I know, he is an old friend of mine. His master is a friend of my master", Edward replied as he turns around.

"This is my younger brother Raygard, you probably never saw him before because he was always in the house", Edgard introduced to Ace. Raygard stared wide eyed at Ace, unable to absorb what was going on around him.

"Come in to the forge. We'll talk inside", Edgard said as he opened the door. "Ray, make sure you close the shop. You can come too after you're done", Edgard continued before going in. Raygard nodded before swiftly walking off to the shophouse.

In the forge.

"Seems like I've been lacking in training", Edgard said as he took a teapot out from the shelves at the side. "No Ed, you've just been busy serving others instead of yourself", Ace commented while he sat down with the girl beside him on a bench.

"Then what have you been doing all this time? You never reply to my letters and still have the audacity to ask me make you a weapon", Edgard questioned while pouring tea into small cups before handing it over to him and the girl.

"Who's this?", Edgard looked at her before turning to Ace "you've never strike as someone who would engage in intimacy, I actually thought your old man cut it off HAHAHA!" Edgard burst out laughing.

"I kill people Ed, not fuck em", Ace retorted. "So she is not yours right? Hey girl, come with me, I'll be way less boring then this guy", Edgard persuaded. "No, I have pledged myself to Master until the day I die", she huffed as she snuggled to Ace's side.

"Wow a servant, is that how you train now? With her? Really?", Edward looked at Ace with a disgusted look. "I'm not Jack, she wants to be with me I'll let her be", Ace replied casually.

"Well you killed him, so it's not surprising", Edgard said in a matter of fact way bringing up his shoulders. "Master, what does he mean?", the girl looked at him. "I'll explain it to you another time", Ace replied waving his hand.

"So, what's your name?", asked Edgard as he drank his tea. "My name is...", the girl looks at Ace who became shocked for a moment before calming down. "You don't have a name?", Edgard looks at her before turning to Ace, "and you didn't even know?", he continues before facepalming himself.

"Her name is Audaxia", Ace announced before turning to the girl who was surprised. Ace looks at her patting her head, the girl still looking surprised.

"Wow, you made that name out of nowhere?", Edgard questioned looking surprised. "Nope, I have my reasons", Ace answered before drinking his tea. 'I'll let you know why later' Ace thought as he looked at the girl. The girl nodded her head smiling to herself.
