The Epic

In Andoria, a servant whose name precludes the prophecy of the land's rebirth is now awakened to a bitter truth. The kingdom and the people who he loved were to find nothing but glory in destroying the other cities and lives Not being able to turn a blind eye to injustice the servant sought after a sage who who would reveal a cursed truth. His desire to save his masters from such an evil life led him to scour the seven city-states. Upon finding the sage the servant was willing to exact any price to find the next thirteen heros of prophecy. Instead of a blessing and a great sacrifice he is only asked to pay with just his name as the fee. The servant who loved his people accepted, thinking that his name was a cheap price to pay when the sage could have asked for the entire kingdom's fortune. The sage's eyes gleamed with wise mischief as the name disappeared from the servant's soul. "You will be the very rot that calls forth the legendary foes you seek. Oh mercy to you who has sold their name for it is one of kindness, love and, sacrifice to which you will forever be incapable until your last breathe. You will be as immoral as your masters after cleansing the evils from their souls." If one could vanish in smoke then the sage would have in the most urgent of dramas but instead he continued to tell the servant. "Go now and conquer the lands if you desire to know the golden age of your lands. You will have no name for death to claim at you at your grave and no God to make you lesser than he. You are immortal and you will not die until after the heros come for their glory from your reign." Having heard of the trickery upon him he immediately banished the sage who had offered the servant ultimate power. In such an act, it would have been attempted murder instead but the servant had yet to be tainted by corruption, so he acted of a lesser evil of anger.

This however did not free him from the sage's truths because when he returned homeward to his city, his master had his masters arrested for treason. They foolishly brought him to trial with law and accused him of attempting to overthrow the reigning status quo. The cruelest among them daring to pull the puppet strings of their peers to make him appear as though fallen from faithful service. It was when the trial was over and when they learned of the sage's words they closed the trial. Nor once did they knowingly speak the servant's name thus the folly of smirging a loyal soul and also breaking his honorable heart. The servant now gave birth to anger and laughed at the court. "You who I have loved, shall see the thirteen heroes I have found the answers to. Beloved teachers, friends, and comrades I forgive your ignorance but not your actions. Before I meet the gallows to hang, I ask you to speak my name so that the love for you which I am burdened will remind you that I am the last lover in this court. Today, my name will mean nothing henceforth!"

An old time friend, one weaker to the influence of the puppetry of evil in the court spoke. "I hereby sentence, Alexander Vondoom to death for the cause of our crimes our kingdom and henceforth serve as a martyr of love. We shall end our misdeeds hereafter reforming our estate as virtuous as his words have moved us to recognize our mistakes today." In that moment the greatest betrayal broke the heart of the servant and the words of the sage brought themselves alive. His name was torn away from him and in the land of Andoria one's own reputation was their name.

The servant's death was called for the next morning in public service. When the man died from hanging, the people muttered about his virtuosity and their hearts began to change. The citizens spread word and the story of Alexander the truest lover began to remind the people to act in equal capacity. The hold of his name cleansed the armies of dishonor but also erased the man's life with each telling so that when his speech finally reached his master, the corruption would come to end but he would not be remembered. In a few years, a corrupt state transformed from wicked puppetry to a work of diamond layered utopian code of honor.

Although the prophecy fulfilled, it didn't end there for when a time came to pick a high ruler there would reach the ears of the council. Among them lay in plain sight was the former servant. Dying had transformed him physically as much as his heart had changed upon his return to the living. His anger remains yet to be fulfilled as he plots the throne as those who had once been the most corrupted now remains as his peers yet the hypocrisy of the changes fueled his vengeance. Their betrayal and their inability to remember Alexander for who he was, led him to succeed the throne through his superior council of his city state. In doing so they brought doom hidden behind the reformed veil as he called for the conquest of the neighboring city-state. One by one, his journey quickened the prophecy and the gullible people led him into the next victory.
