The Last Tears

Emerald Castle... Jemmy sat lonely with his laptop hosting an online meeting with his staff. When he heard a slight movement, he looked at the bed attentively. "Send someone to protect Marina. She's my sister." Naysa said while still asleep. Jemmy didn't understand whether she was dreaming or meant what she said. When he tried to wake her up, she was still sleeping. But anyway, Wade was send off to Polar hotel. Evening, Naysa opened her eyes and stared into the black shiny eyes. Jemmy was too happy when she woke up. Though the doctor just said she was ok, Jemmy could still not believe his words. "How do you feel?" Jemmy asked. Naysa wanted to sit up but the strong hands held her back. "You'll hurt yourself." "Am fine I can sit ok?" She said but Jemmy didn't let her go. "Naysa there is one thing we have to talk about. The way you do take rush decisions is alarming and that's endangering your life. At least, wherever you go, take the guards with you. For the sake of your protection." Jemmy said. Naysa, with Jemmy's support sat up and looked at him. "I just don't know what came over me. Am sorry." She said, lowering her head like an obedient child to the parents. It was too cute that Jemmy stared at her admiringly. Even at her weakest point, she's still never lost her beauty. "I'll make you something to eat." He said as he stood up and headed to the kitchen. "Hey, some wonders here today!" Adrian started. "He's going to personally cook for her." Another guard said. "Wait, does he even know how to cook?" Stenson couldn't help laughing. In a matter of five minutes, the kitchen looked like a tornado zone. Broken pieces of glasses and plates were all over. Flour was all over the place plus in his face. His whole clothes were covered in flour and other kitchen ingredients. When he came out, Naysa who sat in the living room burst out laughing. Stenson couldn't help it as he took pictures. The other guards went out the couldn't suppress their laughter any longer. "Ooh my God! What were you doing?" Naysa held a mirror close to his face but Jemmy closed his eyes. "Do I look terrible?" He asked in a cute deep voice. "No... Not really. Who said my husband can look terrible? You look cute and funny. You've won a suit to the kitchen? I can't help it." Naysa laughed again. Looking at his suit, Jemmy couldn't help frowning. "What did you prepare for me?" She asked. "I made instant noodles." He said. "And how did you have your whole body covered in flour?" She asked. Jemmy kept quiet. "Can I go to the kitchen and have a look?" "No... Don't go there!" Jemmy stepped forward to stop her. "Can we go together then?" Naysa asked. "If you insist." He replied while leading the way. Naysa followed. The whole kitchen was a mess. The trash can was full of spoilt dumplings, pan cakes and many other goods he tried to prepare. He looked at Naysa innocently. "Ok you did a good job, but you're a pretty bad cook." She said. Jemmy stared at her as if digesting what she just said. "Ok, don't be mad at me for that kind of a comment. Can I be your teacher then?" "Sure." He replied. "But there is a fee to pay. Are you ready?" She asked. "How much is it teacher?" He asked eargerly that Naysa laughed. "It's not about money. It's something else." She said. "Whatever you want, I'll do it for you." Jemmy said. "Good, now take a guess before I tell you."

CHAPTER SIXTY NINE: HAVEN'S COMPANY

Marina would have assumed the question but she didn't want to look rude. She accepted. Livia and Roderick left.

"Are you mad?" Erin asked. "Why did you accept?"

"She was our room mate. I don't see any harm in it."

"I have a bad feeling about her." Erin said.

After their meal, they retired to their respective rooms.

Next day;

Livia arrived home earlier because Charles had asked her to come over to the company and hlo with analysing some data. She also wanted to get done with the work faster so that she may have enough time to prepare for the party at Polar hotel. It's not like she really was dying for the party, but she needed to at least fund something that would keep Roderick's mind out of the real troubles of the Caskeys.

Charles walked into Livia's office. He was in a blue suit. He was still handsome and a bit taller than most guy. He looked at his sister for a long while before sighing and pulling a chair to sit down.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Livia frowned.

"This." He placed a newspaper on the desk and waited. Livia grabbed the newspaper and went through the first pages.

"What?" She frowned harder, opening her eyes wider.

"I already warned against the Caskeys. Anyone who mess with the Grants is always reduced to nothing. Old man Andrew didn't wake up from the shock and died today morning. They're given a span of one month to pay millions of money to the Haven's for that hotel that went down in flames. The company no longer belongs to them." Charles said.

"How could the court have decided the matter that fast? I mean, no trial, no evidences, no witnesses?" Livia lamented

"Nothing is impossible with the Grants. They're just mysterious. Besides, this whole issue wouldn't have blown up were it not for James' greed for power." Charles said. "If there are people you can't cross paths with, then they're the Grants."

"But we have to help them brother." Livia wanted to cry. She loved Roderick.

"Livia open your eyes wide ok? Even if we sell this whole company, we can't raise half the amount needed." Charles said.

MEANWHILE...

Haven's home.

Naysa arrived home at 8 o'clock in the morning. Uncle Tarran was still going through the newspapers and watching the TV with wide open eyes. How did all this happen in a span of 24 hours?

It was then that Naysa walked in dressed in a simple lue dress. She looked happier than usual.

"Uncle good morning." Naysa started. "Am sorry I haven't been checking on so much but hope Marina has been keeping you company right?"

"Good morning. Gow will I be sure that my sister's daughter is fine if you keep disappearing like this?" Uncle Tarran asked.

"Uncle I was busy. Besides, I brought you good news." Naysa smiled.

"Wait, all this information on papers, is it true or just tabloid rumors?" Uncle Tarran asked.

"It's true. That's why am here."

"If it's true, how are you related to the Grants? Because someone can't just decide to help you this much. That's a first class family..."

"Uncle, you are no longer going to stay home. You're still strong and you'll be the CEO of the Haven's company. Jemmy Grant will be here to personally introduce himself. You're being waited outside. Someone is at the company waiting to show you around. Now, get prepared." Naysa said.

Uncle Tarran want to ask more but Naysa's phone rung and she walked aside to pick up the reciever.

Dressed in a black suit, uncle Tarran walked out of the house towards the waiting convoy of cars outside. They all had the Grants logo imprinted on it. Stenson opened the car for him and ushered him in. Naysa stood outside some few metres away on a call. After a while, she cut off the reciever and walked to Stenson.

"I guess you'll have to drive him there. Hank is already waiting." She said.

"Madam, second boss can wait for as long as it takes. In fact, it's more healthy when he's there waiting than when he's out there looking for trouble." Adrian piped. Everyone laughed, including uncle Tarran who didn't know who second boss was.

"I know, but I also heard Larry would be in the nation and needs to meet him. You better hurry up and be on the safer side." Naysa said.

"What about you?" Frank asked. "I personally can't risk being skinned alive by letting you enter a taxi home."

"I swear." Another guard nodded.

"Stenson will drive me to Red State Company." She replied. After the arrangements were done, the convoy of cars left in two groups, one heading to the Haven's company while the other to Red State Company.

HAVEN'S COMPANY

When the cars halted, uncle Tarran was led into the elevator. When he came out, one tall handsome man with shiny black eyes was leaning on the rails waiting. Uncle Tarran didn't know Hank, but Hank had the picture Natsa send to him, so of no doubt he recognized him.

"The new CEO of the Haven's company." Hank started. "Am Hank Grant." This time he tried talking in as much respect as he could afford, though it looked like a joke since he wasn't the most respectful person as he looked now.

"Mr. Grant? " Uncle Tarran was suprised. Of all the people, Hank Grant, a man from a wealthy and mysterious background was to show him around the company as the new CEO. This was an expensive joke.

"Follow me." The problem with the Grants was, they would try being respectful when they felt like, but that doesn't mean patience was one of their virtue. Hank wasn't in for exclamations and perty questions. He started moving, leaving uncle Tarran with no option but to follow him.

"The workers here we're all under the Caskeys. They may not be as well behaved as you may expect. You have all the power to fire and employ whoever you like." Hank said as they entered uncle Tarran's new office.

After showing him around and doing some little explanation, Hank left as if nothing happened. He was doing all this for the sake of her sister in law who was his elder brother's lover. They had accepted to help Jemmy win Naysa in all faces of the world.

"Mmh... So am here now, the boss." Uncle Tarran sighed. The staff was already downstairs waiting for the new CEO's speech.

"The staff is out waiting sir." The secretary artived and gave the information. Fastening his tie, uncle Tarran followed him downstairs.
