Gorgeousness in fabric

Chapter 52| Gorgeousness in fabric

Kimberly woke up feeling light. It was a week to her unveiling and apart from the hassle of fitting into the insanely beautiful dress she would have to wear on that day, she had felt absolute peace.

Although the gold-colored ball gown was retro and medieval and it gave an impression that she stepped into a 90's movie starring as an elite, she had to hold herself back from shedding tears when she had seen how beautiful it was.

She had even let out an audible gasp even as the designer who Chrystal had told her, later on, was one of the most famous designers in the realm, gushed about how delighted he was to work on a dress for a human who was as beautiful as his craft.

It was completely bare at the back, almost to her waistline and the bodice hugging gown accentuated curves she had never really had an opportunity to show off on Earth in her everyday bland white shirt and black pants well except on rare opportunities when she had to go all fancy and don dinner gowns.

But none of her gowns could hold a candle to the gorgeousness in fabric in front of her and just how much it screamed royalty and prestige.

It had a sweetheart neckline at the front and completely hinted at innocence which was a striking opposite of what the bare back of the gown represented.

It was love at first sight as she believed it was flirty, bold but not over the notch not until she had, had to fit into the gown so the fabric can be altered and adjustments made if need be and that's when she had realized that even though the fabric was gold in color and it glitters, she could still be a bitch.

She had thought she would die of suffocation when Chrystal had first tightened the corset but that was heaven until she had to step into the gown which was like thrice smaller than her and she wasn't even exaggerating and yet, Luca thought it was her perfect fit and now she had to indulge in some crazy diet plan so she could fit into the gown without combusting when she had to wear it for hours.

But in-between having to cut her meal intake, try to squeeze herself into the gown which was now a routine to check her progress, and being busy learning basic lessons about the Indiosia people she was glad that it didn't give her space to catch a glimpse of Tristan.

Though thinking about him was a whole different story. She still couldn't get off her mind how badly their last meeting had ended and how she had collapsed on top of her bed and shed tears till it was dawn lying to herself it was because of her Nonna and her best friend who was conveniently giving up on her within days while she was aware that it had everything to do with Tristan's stabbing insults and taunts.

Saif, the chief of trickery still manages to sneak into her room, at late hours since she was always busy all day and gives her "unneeded" tip on how to sneak in as much junk as she needed without interference from anyone.

He was the one good thing she looked forward to and despite knowing she was forming a pattern with him and now looked forward to their late-night secret meetings, the idea didn't scare her at all.

Despite how crazy Saif could be in a bizarre way he managed to introduce normal into the confusing world she found herself in and he was the only person she felt had her back in some fucked up way.

She looked away as Chrystal pulled the blinds of her window allowing the Sunrays in.

"You have a piano lesson, Milady. I need to prep you to go meet your professora,"

Kimberly nodded at her, even as she stepped out. A silent gesture that indicated privacy for her to bathe herself. She was happy that at least Chrystal was finally coming to terms with how difficult it would be for her to be scrubbed by another person.

Although she didn't know why they thought her learning how to play the Piano was important and why she needed to eat unappetizing vegetables to reduce when Luca could easily alter the fabric, she was learning to count her little victories being, she looked forward to wearing the gown and having it fit since she totally adored the outfit and she loved her Piano professora, he was funny and although Chrystal had told her to be careful around him and not get herself wounded around him since he was a vampire and hence had blood Lust for Humans, she thinks he was okay and fun to be with.

Surprisingly his good looks had not made her stare. Staying in a house with two gods could do that to you hence anything less seems average besides Tristan's unruly behavior had made the value of good-looking people drop in her eyes. What use is a man who looks like a god, when he breathes out fire whenever he opens his mouth?

She didn't know if he had continued his avoiding streak or it was just her busy schedule but she was glad and grateful to whatever was the reason that had shielded her from him. Oh God, how she hated him! She thought even as she dipped her leg into her prepared bubbly steamy bath, almost moaning.

Another one of her wins she was going to miss when she goes back to Earth. Even if she could afford to lazily have a dip in her bathtub in the morning when she had meetings and cases to look into everywhere, she knew that the herbal ointment and perfumed wash poured into the bath had something to do with how soothing it was and that couldn't be found on Earth now could it?

Though, she thought as she sank fully into the bathtub she wasn't beyond "borrowing" a few of the bottles when leaving.

She willed herself not to think of any and everything even as she closed her eyes and enjoyed her luxurious bath. Someday this all would be a story she would tell her grandchildren who would consider it a fairytale.

Because if they did believe her, she would get worried about their mental health.

But for now, she won't think things thoroughly, she was going to try not to get swallowed up in this land and actually have a blast while she fit into a life that wasn't hers.

She was going to play a milady role and pick up the identity, the King had given her. Diane. She smiled. She was going to be more than just a poor human girl drafted to face the worst but was going to spread her wings and act princess while at it.

Queen Faye already thought the worst of her, Prince Tristan thought her a devil and Saif would always be there to have a good laugh because he'll see past her facade as always.

Let us rain perfect glittery human turned Realm Princess on them, shall we? She smirked even as she massaged her hair with soap meditatively.
