Sympathy

NOWEL

I am getting more and more frustrated with every second that passes by. When I got to my breaking point, I snapped. ''Good eye-god! For how long are you going to keep me here?''

The devil smiled. ''Probably forever. That is if you are being a good girl. If you are making me uncomfortable, I will get rid of you.''

Seriously? ''Why are you--''

The doors of Lucifer's throne room burst open as a man or...a demon? Entered. And he was stunning.

He walked past me as if I was nobody or he...probably did not see me.

''Levi! My favorite brother. You are just in time to meet our new guest in Hell.''

Brother? I blinked. The devil has a...brother?

The devil faced me and smirked, ''I have brothers.'' emphasizing the s-word. Well, I guess they are all jerks like you. I turned and shrieked as I met his brother's death glare. I gulped.

''I need to borrow our guest for five minutes.''

''What?'' The devil raised a suspicious eyebrow at the stunning and jewelry-freaking demon. He has his whole body covered in expensive jewelry and adornments. Though he looks familiar, where have I seen him before?

''I never knew that you also hit on dark-haired human females as well.'' The devil drawled with a smirk. I shook my head at that disgusting bastard.

''I rather save myself for my mate.''

Interesting.

''I promise to bring her back.''

Please don't bring me back here. I pleaded inside. The devil is the worst company you could have with you.

''Hmm...'' The devil thought as he eyed Levi. ''What made you think that I would trust you enough to bring back our guest?''

Good question. Levi sighed.

''If I don't bring her back by sundown, you can have my mate.''

The devil grinned. ''Deal.''

Levi, the hot demon walked over to me freed me from my chains, and grabbed my hands.

''Please don't bring me back.'' I pleaded as he dragged me towards the door.

''When it comes to my mate, I don't joke with her.''

Oh.

I shivered as a new environment materialized around me. It was pouring snow. My breaths echoed as I followed the familiar hot demon up a hill. I struggled to keep up with him as he seemed to climb the hill effortlessly.

When we reached the top, I collapsed and gasped for breath. It's surprising that with the way I am very skinny, I think I still need to do more exercise to be fit. I should ride a horse every morning or walk around.

The hot demon rolled his eyes at me as I fought to catch my breath. It's not your fault. You are at a better advantage than me. You are a demon and I am a...well, human.

I managed to stand on my feet but fainted as another image formed in front of me. I frowned, how come I did not notice him earlier?

I stood up and dusted the snow off my body and hair. I examined the enigma in front of me and realized that half of his gorgeous face, neck, and arms were partly burnt.

Michael, what in the hell happened to you? I wanted to ask but refrained.

''What is he doing here?'' I breathed. ''Wait, what am I doing here? And who are you?''

''I am Levi, the fourth Prince of Hell. You are here because he thinks you are also needed to do this.''

''You are Lucifer's brother?''

The hot demon clenched his jaw. ''Does my family tree matter to you right now?''

''I'm just curious. Sorry, I asked.''

We would never get along. I looked away when my eyes met Michael's gaze. Something about him is different. He looks vulnerable and helpless apart from his partly burnt face. I hope it heals because I am very worried--Garh! I shouldn't be. I frowned.

''Why am I here?''

Levi looked at Michael but he looked down. He looked nervous. Levi sighed and rolled his eyes before moving closer to me.

''Look, Princess-''

''I am a Queen now.''

''Your greatest achievement? Well, congratulations.''

I huffed. His he trying to be sarcastic with me?

''Listen! We need to sacrifice your sister on Mount Doom to break the deal Michael had with the devil.''

I blinked, ''WHAT?!''

''It's a long story. If we don't free Michael from the devil's grip, a whole new Hell would be let loose. That's why we need to sacrifice your sister.''

I stumbled back a little. I could not comprehend the audacity of these people. ''And you think that I would be okay with it?'' I screamed with tears in my eyes.

''Do we have a choice?''

I gasped in horror. Can you believe this person? Offer my sister as a sacrifice? And they had the guts to tell me this?!

I was more than furious.

''Why do I need to sacrifice My sister?'' My heart was pounding in my chest.

''It's our only option in setting Michael-''

''Michael?'' That name rang like warning bells in my head. I shot him a death glare. ''This arrogant bloody half freak sold me to the devil without a second thought for a bloody imaginary deliverance!!'' My head was boiling. I have a lot to say to this ungrateful freak.

''And you want me to sacrifice my innocent little sister for him? He would never appreciate it!''

''You would offer your sister if he appreciates it?''

What the--'' No!'' My voice echoed everywhere as I kicked the snow and clenched my fist. Levi sighed in frustration as he pulled at his ridiculously long hair.

''I WOULD NEVER OFFER MY ONLY SISTER AND FAMILY as a sacrifice for this bastard!'' I made it crystal clear to them as a tear dropped from my eyes and rolled freely down my cold cheeks as I remembered all the pain, hurt, and betrayal Michael had caused me so far. I would never forgive him this time. Not now, not ever.

The moment he could easily give me up to the devil without even looking back...made me realize that he wasn't even worth my sympathy.
