NOWEL

"Really? You can fight the devil to have me?" What is this? Does he think that the devil is real?

"I slew the Kraken once upon a time in Greece. Lucifer is no big deal for me to handle and destroy."

I went still as I tried to comprehend his level of silliness.

"Even if he is an immortal invincible Lord of Hell," According to what I read in stories, "And You're just one...random mortal prince of a kingdom half the size of Andromeda and its wealth?"

The smile vanished from his face and he suddenly seemed offended. Was it something I said?

He cleared his throat and strode off without even excusing himself. So rude.

That was easier than I thought it would be to get rid of him. Now, who is going to be my next victim? Hmmm...I rolled into the arms of another suffocating prince charming. He smiled as I was trapped in his embrace. He is averagely handsome and not that bad for the sixth Prince of Grimidor.

"My Princess," I eased myself out of his firm grip. "Would you like to dance with me, My princess?"

God! Why are they everywhere? Do I look like some dancing machine to them?

"Why do you think that I would dance with you anyway?" I asked.

"Because..." He held my hand and pulled me towards him, and I gasped. "I am an excellent dancer, a good-looking prince, and that man sneaking into your dreams at night, My princess."

Sounds more like a brainless freak to me. I forcefully yanked myself out of his strong grip to breathe. "On your wishes on the tooth fairy, I'll allow it and believe it to be so."

"Are you being sarcastic with me, My princess?" He asked with a devilish grin on his face.

"If I'm being sarcastic with you, then we would both be laughing and dancing right now. So no, It's the bitter truth." I stepped back at his closeness.

"You are still as arrogant as ever, My dear Princess."

"I'm glad that I haven't changed either. It's my survival mantra. Be arrogant and be who you want to be then be humble to be bound to whatever the world wants you to be."

Now, confusion is evident on his rugged face. Simple things confuse the perverts and small-brained.

"I'm just asking for a dance and nothing more. No need to get savage."

"Leaving me alone has been on my mind since we started this conversation. No need to get offended by it."

He parted his lips in shock as if he wanted to say something. But nothing came out of his mouth. He later huffed and left. Finally!

I rolled again, hoping this time I would fall into the hands of a sensible prince who would not ask me for a dance. But I was wrong.

"No."

"Why don't you want to dance with me, Princess Nowel?"

I cleared my throat a little to make myself clearer. "See, it's not about you..." All about you dumb princes! "It's about me and my mood. I am not in the mood to dance this night."

"Oh, I see. And I understand you, Princess Nowel. Whenever your mood changes for you and you're ready to dance... please, let me know. I'll be waiting for you across the hall." He kissed my knuckles and bowed a little before he strode off.

Such a gentleman. I thought.

He is ready to wait for me, and not force me to satisfy his wants. I am indeed impressed by his morals and upbringing. His manners are quite emulating. His level of understanding and gentleman- ily- ness is charming. Deeply enchanted by this fine prince and hoping that the others would take lessons from him.

"Who does she think she is? Some dream princess wanted by every prince on earth?"

"Such arrogance. It's unacceptable!"

"She has turned down five princes tonight within just five minutes. Some attitude she got there!"

I chose to turn down those anonymous talks and whispers tonight. Not in the frame of mind to fight with some loud-mouthed princess.

I rolled as usual. I spread my arms wide and swayed to the rhythm of the playing instruments. I closed my eyes and let my movements decide for themselves. Whose arms does it wish to fall into tonight? Normally, in Andromeda, the princess stands at different angles and corners of the ballroom, and the princesses from different kingdoms roll, and whosoever arms they fall in tonight the prince would ask you for a dance or anything else.

May the hottest princess fall into your arms tonight. Is the wish they wish every prince present in the ballroom. It's something that has been going on for centuries past in Andromeda. And no one ever saw that it's crazy to have a bunch of princesses from different kingdoms in one hall, rolling...and rolling till they fall into the arms of a prince who would ask them for something. Some even see it as far as being romantic. Which is so ridiculous.

When I become queen, that's the first thing I am going to be flushing away and out of Andromeda for good.

I kept rolling...and rolling...and rolling... desperately hoping and begging the eye god that watches everything to fall into someone's arms again or I might fall from dizziness!

Soon, my back collided with something. I slipped, but a pair of strong arms prevented me from becoming one with the ground. Silver cups and goblets flew in the air, their contents poured down on us like sprinkled water. But this water had different flavors, and colors, and was sticky. The cups of various sizes and shapes fell on our heads and landed on the solid ground with either a clanking or breaking sound. I fisted my hands around that person's strong arms for balance and was afraid that he might let go.

When I stabled myself in his arms, I took in deep breaths and stared into the eyes of my savior. My own eyes widened when I met with blue and red.
